Warren Haynes GRAMMY® Award-winning vocalist, songwriter, guitarist, producer, and frontman of Gov’t Mule—has unveiled his latest solo project, The Whisper Sessions, out now on Fantasy Records.

The nine-track, digital-only release reimagines highlights from his acclaimed 2024 solo album Million Voices Whisper in stripped-down, acoustic form. Produced by Haynes himself, the collection spotlights his soulful vocals, masterful guitar work, and the deeply emotive songwriting that has long defined his artistry.

Among the most striking moments on The Whisper Sessions are two covers, including a heartfelt rendition of the Allman Brothers Band classic Melissa. Captured in a single take with Derek Trucks Haynes’ longtime ABB bandmate and guest on three tracks the performance has already drawn acclaim. Goldmine Magazine praised it, noting: “Haynes helps summon the spirit of Gregg Allman in a version that will give listeners chills.” To coincide with the release, an official performance video for Melissa is now available.

Another highlight is These Changes, co-written and performed with Trucks, which embodies the stripped-down honesty that defines the entire collection. Together, the songs offer an intimate, unfiltered portrait of Haynes’ artistry, where every lyric and note carries renewed clarity and weight.

Originally released in November 2024, Million Voices Whisper marked Haynes’ first solo album in nearly a decade and his fourth overall. Widely lauded as one of his strongest works, the record featured guest appearances from Lukas Nelson and Jamey Johnson on the single Day of Reckoning and quickly rose to the top of the charts.

Looking ahead, Haynes will return to the road with Gov’t Mule this fall and into 2026, with U.S. tour dates and festival appearances including Island Exodus in Jamaica and Joe Bonamassa’s Sound Wave in Florida.
