 Willie Nelson Announces New Album 'Dream Chaser', Marking 70 Years Since Debut Recording Release date: May 29, 2026 Seventy years after recording his first single, country music icon Willie Nelson shows no signs of slowing down, announcing the release of his latest studio album, Dream Chaser. Set for release on May 29—just one month after his 93rd birthday—the forthcoming LP marks Nelson’s 79th solo studio album and an extraordinary 156th album overall, further cementing his status as one of the most prolific and enduring figures in popular music. To celebrate the announcement, Nelson has unveiled the album’s title track as its lead single and confirmed the full tracklist. Dream Chaser features ten songs, six of which are co-written by Nelson, continuing his long-standing tradition of deeply personal songwriting. Among the highlights is “I Can’t Read Your Mind,” co-written with longtime collaborator Buddy Cannon and music legend Bob Dylan. The track marks the first songwriting collaboration between Nelson and Dylan since Across The Borderline (1993), rekindling one of country and folk music’s most storied creative partnerships. The album also includes a rendition of Dylan’s 1989 song “What Was It You Wanted.” Nelson will support the release with a series of live dates across the United States in April and May. While international appearances remain unconfirmed, fans worldwide continue to anticipate a long-awaited return to stages beyond North America. Having first toured Australia in 1981, with subsequent visits in 1994 and 2000, Nelson has not performed outside the United States since a 2019 run of Canadian dates. His most recent performances outside North America date back to a 2013 tour in the United Kingdom.
