Wreckless Strangers Unveil Official Video for “Dirty Soul”

San Francisco-based sextet Wreckless Strangers have released the official music video for their latest single, “Dirty Soul,” a powerful visual extension of the band’s raw, emotionally charged storytelling. Marking their seventh collaboration with director Jason Lee Denton, the video channels the song’s untamed spirit through striking, stylized imagery that mirrors its emotional intensity and depth.

Blending rock, Americana, soul, and R&B into what they call “Ameri-Cali Rock,” Wreckless Strangers craft a cinematic narrative that captures the heart of “Dirty Soul.” Written by Amber Morris, Joshua Zucker, and the late Austin de Lone, the track serves as the title song of the band’s forthcoming EP, Dirty Souls. GRAMMY® Award–winning producer Dave Way, alongside engineer Sean Beresford, helped shape the EP’s cohesive sonic landscape one that seamlessly translates into the video’s evocative visual world while reflecting the band’s deep roots in San Francisco’s storied rock and soul legacy.

“‘Dirty Soul’ is about patience, acceptance, and loving fiercely without losing yourself,” says lead vocalist Amber Morris. “The video gave us space to explore those themes visually and to sit with the messiness of that kind of love in an honest, vulnerable way.”

The “Dirty Soul” video arrives as the band gears up to release their second EP single, “The Runaround,” written by lead vocalist David Noble, on February 27. The full Dirty Souls EP will follow with a digital release on March 27. The project marks Wreckless Strangers’ most unfiltered and dynamic collection to date, drawing inspiration from ’70s and ’80s classic rock while remaining firmly rooted in their signature fusion of Americana, soul, and R&B.

At its core, Wreckless Strangers is a collective of longtime friends and seasoned musicians carrying forward San Francisco’s rich rock ‘n’ roll tradition. Their distinctive “Ameri-Cali Soul” sound fuses the contemporary blues of Bonnie Raitt and Boz Scaggs, the songwriting craftsmanship of Sons of Champlin and Fleetwood Mac, the adventurous Americana spirit of Peter Rowan and the Lost Planet Airmen, and the funk-driven energy of Sly Stone and Tower of Power seasoned with a touch of the Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane for spontaneity and edge. The result is a vibrant blend of soaring vocal harmonies, fiery instrumental interplay, and tightly crafted original songs that celebrate the Bay Area’s legacy of musical freedom and exploration.

Wreckless Strangers features Amber Morris (lead vocals), David Noble (lead guitar, lead vocals), Joshua Zucker (bass, vocals), Mick Hellman (drums, vocals), Rob Anderson (guitar, vocals), and Fletcher Nielsen (keys).
