​Yates McKendree has lived and breathed blues and roots music his entire life. That kind of lifelong dedication doesn’t just show it resonates. Whether he's singing or picking up a guitar, bass, drums, or organ, Yates doesn’t just play music he channels it. There's a direct connection from his soul to every note he delivers. And yes, on these recordings, you’ll hear him doing it all: singing, playing guitar, drums, bass (both electric and upright), and organ.

As remarkable as his talents are, there's something even more meaningful to me: Yates is my son. Recording and performing with him is one of the greatest joys of my life. What makes this project even more special is the community behind it the incredible musicians featured here are not only top-tier players but also some of our dearest friends. We hope that spirit of love, respect, and shared passion comes through in every track.
