CD NEWS / "The Voodoo Sessions" EP has 4 songs taken from a concert in August at a venue called “Down Under". It is located in a town called Mjøndalen, right outside Oslo in Norway.
The drummer, Roy Hanssen, who plays here, was the first drummer in the band CIA that Berdon and I had in the 90s in Norway (100 gigs a year including concerts at Notodden Blues Festival and everywhere else in Norway). The old men are now together again and has been joined by a little bit younger guitar player named Erik Gabrielsen. Berdon sings the lead vocals and all the other guys in the band sings backup vocals.Berdon has his trademark tone from his old dark red Fender Strat and a Peavey tube amp.
The gig was recorded directly from the FOH desk into Logic Pro X. The recordings are truly the live performance and represents the live sound of the band. It has been mixed and mastered (like any other record).
There is a video on YouTube for each of the 4 songs on the EP.
