MACON BLIND GUITAR LEGEND JOEY STUCKEY WORKING ON NEW BLUES ALBUM FEAT. CHUCK LEAVELLE, JIMMY HALL AND RENOWNED PRODUCER ROSS HOGARTH
NEWS / Joey Stuckey is a blind guitarist, producer, educator, recording artist and media personality.
Born in Green Cove Springs FL, a city that has honored him with the key to the city and now residing in Macon GA, for whom he is the official music ambassador, Joey Stuckey is a power house of music talent. He has worked with icons from Alan Parsons to Ted Nugent and Joe Solo, producer of Macy Gray to Sammy Nestico, arranger of the Count Basie orchestra.
Last year saw him take on the UK where he toured and released his latest single “Blind Man Drivin'”.
The song and it's accompanying video was a runaway hit and became the official theme song for the Visually Impaired Musicians Lives Conference, held at the University College of London where Stuckey was also a keynote speaker and performer.
While in the UK, Joey also became friends with research teams from Queen Mary University of London and Goldsmith's University and has worked with them extensively to improve music technology for the blind. As a blind person, a studio owner, producer and professor of music technology at Mercer University, this was a roll Stuckey took on with ease.
2016 is already shaping up to be a land mark year as Joey prepares to release the full length album “Blind Man Drivin'” in early summer.
Says Stuckey, “Music is the thing that makes me know I am a live. It is my spiritual bread and butter and the best way I know to encourage and provide comfort and inspiration to others, while at the same time entertaining and sharing stories about who I am. When I first started making my own music it was a combination of southern rock sensibilities mixed with bands like The Smiths and The Cure, I used to think of myself as the Morrissey of Macon. I have played a lot of jazz and my jazz album 'Mixture' was number 9 on the top 40 CMJ jazz charts for 5 weeks back in 2013, but, the thing that really seems to enthrall my audiences is blues and that is now what I am focused upon.”
And no wonder that blues is what Stuckey fans want to hear! With his versatile voice that can whisper or shout with equal alacrity and his guitar playing that can make one note cry or explode like a super nova with seemingly a thousand notes a second, blues is Stuckey's true calling.
To make this debut blues project truly memorable, Stuckey is working hard to gather old and new friends alike to add some truly one-of-a-kind performances.

NEWS / Introducing Ina Forsman (Finland), Layla Zoe (Canada), Tasha Taylor (USA). www.rufrecords.de Tour Dates Below...
Now in its 12th triumphant year, the Blues Caravan is a touring showcase for the hottest young acts on the Ruf label. With past treks helping launch stars including Joanne Shaw Taylor, Laurence Jones and Samantha Fish, it’s a springboard for the blues scene’s next-big-things, and a magnet for fans who want to catch them before lift-off. In 2016, we’ve got a Blues Caravan lineup sure to raise the roof each night as it rolls across the USA and Europe. The Blue Sisters are doing it for themselves…
Layla Zoe is ready to explode. Like her early influences – from Bob Dylan to Muddy Waters – the Canadian bandleader is a fearless writer, earning victory in 2006’s auspicious Blues Compo songwriting competition, and critical acclaim for albums including 2013’s The Lily. For the Blues Caravan 2016, Layla will be drawing on the best of her catalogue, previewing this year’s new release, and leaving it all on the stage. “With live performances,” she explains, “I believe that the more raw and uncensored I am, the more I can connect with my listeners.”
When Ina Forsman steps up the mic, you’ll believe every word. The Finnish vocalist hit the radar aged 17 with a show-stopping rendition of Etta James’s “All I Could Do Was Cry” on a TV talent show. Since then, she’s achieved international recognition, guesting with blues heavyweights Helge Tallqvist and Guy Verlinde on the road, touring mainland Europe and proving her own songwriting chops with her self-penned and fiercely personal material. When Ina hits the stage, all bets are off. “I rarely plan anything,” she says, “so what happens on the stage, just happens.”
Tasha Taylor has the blues in her blood. The youngest daughter of R&B trailblazer and Stax icon Johnnie Taylor, she inherited his musical talent, but walked her own path, studying drama at Boston University before lighting up hit TV shows including Ugly Betty and House. The pull of music proved too strong, however, and having composed soundtracks for shows like Men In Trees and Lipstick Jungle, Tasha broke through with Taylormade: the album whose self-penned, sharply observed material pinballed from early soul single “Queen” to the redemptive gospel of “I Got Love”. She’ll start the Blues Caravan as a hot tip – and end it as a world-class contender.
CLEOPATRA BLUES IMPRINT TO RELEASE “A DOUBLE DOSE OF THE BLUES” A STAR-STUDDED COLLECTION OF BLUES LEGENDS FROM BOTH THE US & THE UK
BLUES / Hoodoo Down, the new album by The Damned and Dirty, will be released on November 20th. The album signifies a new musical direction and offers more styles than just the blues the duo is well-known for.
The Damned and Dirty’s albums were awarded Best Dutch Blues Album three years in a row. Their albums feature a lot of blues, mostly in the Delta style, but also gave rise to new ideas and new experiments. These ideas have now given birth to the eclectic collection that is Hoodoo Down.
The Damned and Dirty
The Damned and Dirty consists of songwriters Micha Sprenger (guitar) and Kevin de Harde (vocals, harmonica). Live they bring raw delta blues with a crying slide guitar, powerful vocals, tasteful fingerpicking and raw blues harp. On their albums, they present a much wider range of musical styles, and they let themselves be inspired by jazz, country and rock. Their album was named Best Dutch Blues Album three years in a row by The Dutch Blues Foundation.
