Slow Motion has been conceived and created in Sardinia island (Italy), at the Eden Beach Studio.
Slow Motion is the new single by the critically acclaimed Italian guitarist Roberto Tola, born and raised in the exotic and sun kissed Sardinia Island.
This new musical project, which will be included in the new album of the artist COLORS, to be released next Spring 2019, follows the other single LULLABY OF CHRISTMAS, released in December 2017, featuring the trumpeter Bill McGee, and also the multi awarded debut album BEIN’ GREEN, released in May 2017, featuring some of the best world-class international musicians, including Bob Mintzer, Najee, Bill McGee, Bill Sharpe, Jill Saward and Tim Collins.
SLOW MOTION, featuring the talented US singer and musician Darryl Walker, is a personal Roberto Tola arrangement of the tune originally composed by the Brazilian artists Celso Fonseca and Ronaldo Bastos, titled “Slow Motion Bossa Nova”.
Roberto Tola started from the bossa nova sound of the original track to build a total new fresh Smooth Jazz version of the song, where bossa nova still transpires specially in the drums, percussions and rhythmic guitar, on which the fine sinuous guitar of Roberto Tola, the wonderful jazzy Darryl Walker’s voice, together with the delicate minimalist piano, the bass guitar and horns arrangements, gives a colourful and solar new mood to this song.
The guitar of Roberto Tola duets with the Darryl Walker voice, throughout the tune, tailing a nice sounds and melodies conversation, built on a well arranged harmonic structure.
Roberto Tola also plays the only one solo present in this song, that cleverly weaves with a marked sense of rhythmic and melodic phrasing, giving to the tune that latin atmosphere, that is indeed the base and true essence of the original track.
