Although she’s retired, music legend Tina Turner is still making money moves.
Mentioned previously on Singersroom, Turner’s upcoming musical ‘TINA,’ based on her life, is set to open at the Aldwych Theatre in London in March 2018.
“To all my fans. Thank you so much for all of your love and support throughout my career,” Turner writes on Facebook. “I know it’s been many years since my farewell concert, and I know this new stage musical will give everyone a fantastic night out! Love, Tina x.”
Directed by Mamma Mia’s Phyllida Lloyd, ‘TINA’ tells the story of the music icon’s “humble beginnings in Nutbush, Tennessee, to her transformation into the global queen of rock ‘n’ roll.”
Turner and show producers are currently in the hunt for the actress that will sing and dance as her on stage.
“She will definitely have to be able to sing,” the ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’ singer told the Daily Mail. “We’re not pushing that she has to be pretty, but she has to be in shape. She can’t be fat.”

In addition to discussing her new stage play, Turner also voiced her dismay for some of today’s pop stars while praising veterans like Rihanna, Beyonce, and Jennifer Lopez.
“It really can be a turn off,” Turner says about new artists removing their clothes. “I think the new generation is on that road.”
“One does it and everyone does it,” she adds. “The costumes become less and less. I just take a deep breath and say, ‘When is it over?!’ But at least most of them can sing.”
The star reportedly praised Beyonce, Rihanna and almost everything about Jennifer Lopez.
“I love how Rihanna sings. Beyonce; I love how Jennifer Lopez looks – except her behind is a little bit heavy. Those girls are the leaders,” she was quoted as saying.
