Keys And Chords
In a fortuitous meeting, singer/songwriter, Jericho had only a moment to catch the ear of Justin Peters, President/CEO of Platinum Planet Music. That moment in time led to an exclusive songwriting contract. “Although young, Jericho’s a masterful songwriter and has already developed her skills to the point where she can keep pace with any of Nashville’s finest songwriters. We’re proud to add her to our roster,” comments Justin.
Describing her music as country with down-to-earth lyrics, Jericho pulls a lot of ideas from her own experiences, always staying true to herself. Now with a publishing deal in hand, she is laying the groundwork for her dreams starting with her writing. In fact, the day after she wrote her first song with Justin Peters, “Tomorrow Better Be Better,” it was put on hold for an upcoming movie. Not satisfied with the status quo, Jericho strives every day to make her songwriting skills sharper and more refined. While writing is at the forefront, she is also fine-tuning her guitar and piano techniques.
Jericho’s love for music started early, even singing before she could talk. Growing up in a military family, gave her a wide range of experiences and also helped develop a strong bond with her parents and three siblings. At age 11, her family settled in Franklin, Tennessee, where Jericho began nurturing her talent while attending Franklin Christian Academy and Belmont University.
Having already written close to 100 songs, she credits Porter Howell of Little Texas, with teaching her how to write. In the past, Jericho has done a lot of solo writing, but with her recent signing, also comes the opportunity to work with other established songwriters. As always, Jericho is embracing this learning experience and enjoying the challenge of creating with other writers. Even though she’s at a place many singer/songwriters only dream about, she refuses to become complacent and continues to work hard every day to hone her skills. And with each new day comes subtle differences in Jericho’s music as she matures and gets better and better at doing what she loves.
Jericho’s motto, “stay true to yourself” combined with her work ethic and God-given talent are sure to take her far!
