This Friday, 9/16 Mason Summit releases his 3rd album, Gunpowder Tracks! Please let us know if you'd like a promotional copy or download link for review. Below you can watch his video premiere for the song, "Hitting All the Reds" on Moxipop and read what the critics are saying!
Summit may be only 19, but he has been playing and recording music since the age of 13. His debut album, Absentee was released in 2012 and followed by the cleverly titled, Loud Music and Soft Drinks in 2014. Both albums were critically acclaimed with the popular music blog Hyperbolium asserting that “Mason Summit’s second self-produced album suggests Brian Wilson’s Pet Sounds Era” and M Music and Musicians Magazine claiming that Summit showed, “remarkable self-awareness”. With Gunpowder Tracks, Summit continues to prove himself a born artist and takes his earned seat amongst more mature pop musicians.
“Hitting All The Reds” shows Summit as a thoroughly indie musician with a tinge of Son Volt and early Elliot Smith in his stylings. Summit has a youthful charm willing to embrace the urban cowboy aesthetic while still inhabiting a psychedelic angst. Summit is going places, believe you me."--Moxipop
“Yet Another Brilliant Album From Mason Summit — ‘Gunpowder Tracks’—Parcbench
"At 19 , Mason like some of the greats sings songs that one might expect from someone in their thirties or forties. Awesome voice, great lyrics, this is an artist who is going to be around for a long time and you can take that prophetic thought to the bank."--50thirdand3rd Music Blog
"Definitely a lot of folk and pop influences here. Most importantly, he has strong songwriting skills coupled with simple, accessible production"--VT Blog
"This is the place to stop for some killer, mainstream pop that plays it straight without being condescending to any. Well done."--Midwest Record
