The highly anticipated second volume of the Silverado Signature Songwriter Series features Texas based singer-songwriter Crystal Yates. Yates, a known powerhouse vocalist and national contest winner, shows off an incredible collection of five self-penned tracks. Produced in Texas, the album features a fresh but very true “Texas Country” sound, and expertly displays her amazing talents. It will be available Friday, May 12th through all digital and streaming platforms. Online pre-orders will begin Friday, April 28th.
The series was created by Silverado Records to showcase great songwriting talent and the current style and sound of the featured songwriter.
"This is an incredible second installment in this series and we know people are going to love Crystal's songs when they hear them. This album is exactly what this series was intended to be," says Scott Thomas, CEO Silverado Records.
"I always write with my listener on my heart,” says Yates. “My hope is that this collection of songs reaches the soul and stirs it. I want people to feel as if they have opened up, I heard, and wrote a song just for them."
About Crystal Yates
Crystal Yates was listening to a sermon at Cross Timbers Church in Argyle when she had a musical epiphany. "Stop trying to separate the secular and sacred by treating everything as sacred," implored the pastor, Toby Slough. It was then that the country singer-songwriter from McKinney realized her love of songwriting didn’t require her to compartmentalize her audience or subject matter. On Sunday mornings you will find Crystal and her husband and guitar player, Will, in front of thousands of worshippers leading the song service for Cross Timbers.
Yates has been influenced by Hank Williams Sr. more than by any other artist. She grew up on a steady diet of Merle, Waylon and Dolly and is a student of country music in all of its forms, so her songs don’t categorically fall into some sort of contemporary Christian/country hybrid. Such a narrow distinction would undermine the depth she requires from her own creations.
