Clapton Celebrates 20 Years of The Road to Escondido with New Enhanced Edition and Unreleased Tracks Release date: november 20, 2026 Eric Clapton is revisiting his celebrated collaboration with J.J. Cale for its 20th anniversary. The Road to Escondido: Enhanced Edition arrives November 20 via Bushbranch/Surfdog Records, expanding the original 2006 album with three previously unreleased tracks from the sessions, three live cuts from Live in San Diego, and new liner notes. The release will be available digitally, on 180‑gram Rusty Red & Sky Blue vinyl, and on CD. The first preview, “Roll On,” one of the newly unearthed studio recordings featuring Billy Preston and John Mayer, is out now along with a new music video. Originally released in 2006, The Road to Escondido marked the long‑awaited studio partnership between Clapton and Cale, two artists whose mutual admiration had stretched across decades. The album’s sound blended blues, rock, country, and folk into a laid‑back, unmistakably Cale‑and‑Clapton hybrid. Reflecting on Cale’s influence, Clapton notes, “People are unaware of how important he is in the tree of musical history throughout the U.S. and the world, and the effect he’s had on people, in a very subtle way, in the way they sing, play guitar, and make records.” Eric Clapton The Road To Escondido: Enhanced Edition Tracklisting: Danger Heads In Georgia Missing Person When This War Is Over Sporting Life Blues Dead End Road It’s Easy Hard To Thrill Anyway The Wind Blows Three Little Girls Don’t Cry Sister Last Will And Testament Who Am I Telling You?
