Thirteen-time Blues Music Award winner Curtis Salgado delivers an electrifying performance in the new video for “Wiggle Out Of This,” featured on his forthcoming live album Legacy Rewind: Live in ’25, arriving April 17, 2026 via Nola Blue Records.

Recorded and filmed live on April 5, 2025 at The Triple Door in Seattle, Washington, the video captures Salgado in his natural habitat—center stage, commanding a powerhouse 15-piece band. The ensemble includes Keashaun Jones, Margaret Linn and Lindsey Reynolds (backing vocals); Alan Hager and Ben Rice (guitars); John Linn and John Wolcott (bass); Brady Goss (piano); Brian Harris (B3); Gary Harris and Timothy Bryson (saxophones); Dave Mills (trumpet); Lars Campbell (trombone); and Ron Tuttle with Patrick Seals (drums and percussion).

From the first downbeat, Salgado dives headfirst into the tune’s infectious, funky groove. His soulful vocals, razor-sharp phrasing, and punchy harmonica solo ignite the room, underscoring why he has twice earned the Blues Music Award for B.B. King Entertainer of the Year. The band digs deep into this blues-infused, up-tempo gem, delivering a tight, high-energy performance that exemplifies Salgado’s reputation as one of the most compelling live performers in contemporary blues and soul.

Reflecting on the project, Salgado shares:
“In April 2025, we recorded a live album at The Triple Door in Seattle, Washington. I went back through all my recordings to select a variety of songs for the show, and I’m very happy with how it turned out. We also filmed the show so people could experience it visually as well as sonically. ‘Wiggle Out Of This’ was the title track from my 1999 debut album. It was written for me by my good friend Peter Boe, a brilliant piano player and songwriter. I hadn’t played it in years, and performing and recording it live with these incredible musicians was a thrill. Hope you like it!”

Legacy Rewind: Live in ’25 is a powerful retrospective that reimagines standout songs from across Salgado’s career with fresh arrangements featuring four-part horns and three backing vocalists. Ten of the album’s thirteen tracks are drawn from Blues Music Award-nominated projects and acclaimed releases, including selections from Soul Shot (Alligator Records, 2012), The Beautiful Lowdown (Alligator Records, 2016), and Fine By Me (Little Village, 2024).

A prolific songwriter with deep roots in R&B, funk, soul and rock ’n’ roll, Salgado says, “I want people to relate to the songs. You can dance to it, but the words have to carry the weight. I know if a song hits me, it’ll hit others just as hard.”

Born in Eugene, Oregon in 1954, Salgado’s passion for performance surfaced early and never let up. By 18, he was working as a paid performer on the Northwest bar circuit. Over the next four decades, he built a global following through relentless touring and unforgettable live shows. His storied career includes mentoring John Belushi—who credited Salgado as an inspiration for The Blues Brothers—as well as a six-year stint co-leading The Robert Cray Band and serving as lead vocalist for Roomful of Blues.
