Eddie 9V Drops New Single “Whole Lot Coming For You” Ahead of Down Here

Atlanta‑bred guitarist, singer, and songwriter Eddie 9V has released “Whole Lot Coming For You,” the latest single from his forthcoming album Down Here, out November 6 via Easy Eye Sound. Produced by Dan Auerbach — GRAMMY® Producer of the Year and one‑half of The Black Keys — Down Here marks Eddie’s debut for Auerbach’s Nashville label and studio.

“Whole Lot Coming For You” finds Eddie in full throttle, leaning into the raw, guitar‑driven rock that has become his signature. Fueled by a hard‑charging groove and a loose, freewheeling guitar attack, the track captures the spontaneous, live‑wire energy that runs through the new album.

“‘Whole Lot Coming For You’ was one of my favorites to cut,” Eddie says. “It was one of the last tunes we recorded, and it was nice to just rip Freddie King‑style blues to get the juices out. At the end of the day, everybody likes to turn up their guitars and get a jam going.”

The single follows the acclaimed “Blowin’ Up,” which premiered exclusively on SiriusXM’s The Spectrum on July 14. The track quickly gained momentum, earning Guitar World’s Editors Pick for July 2026 and Classic Rock’s Track of the Week. Classic Rock praised its gritty Southern swagger, calling it “a deliciously greasy, easy‑on‑the‑ear Southern groove machine with a laid‑back funky blues kick” and “the best country‑fried rock’n’roll with an edge.”

Recorded at Auerbach’s legendary Easy Eye Sound Studio in Nashville, Down Here captures Eddie 9V at a pivotal moment — a road‑tested artist channeling years of sweat‑drenched shows, Southern soul, blues, rock & roll, and instinctive feel into his most expansive album yet.

The record grew out of an intense series of writing sessions led by Auerbach, opening Eddie to a new creative process after years of steering his own ship. The sessions brought together an exceptional lineup of musicians and writers, including Marcus King, Pat McLaughlin (Bonnie Raitt, John Prine, Tanya Tucker), and Daniel Tashian (Kacey Musgraves, Lee Ann Womack, Josh Turner).

“I hope when people hear this record they feel the soul of it,” Eddie says. “I want them to feel like they’re sitting in the studio with us as we’re making music.”
Raised in the red clay of Atlanta and sharpened through relentless gigging, Eddie 9V built his reputation one stage at a time. He picked up the guitar at six, moved through metal and indie rock before discovering Howlin’ Wolf’s iconic 1966 Newport Folk Festival performance, and ultimately found his calling in the blues.

Cutting his teeth in Atlanta clubs, Eddie regularly played four‑and‑a‑half‑hour nights  sometimes for tips  developing the instinct and connection with audiences that define his sound. By 17, he was touring beyond Georgia. In 2019, he wrote, produced, and released his debut Left My Soul In Memphis.

“Making this record taught me how to put my guard down and just have fun rather than worrying about things,” Eddie says. “That’s what you can feel on the record  a sense of freedom.”
