The Rolling Stones have released their new single “Jealous Lover”, accompanied by a cinematic music video directed by Chris Barrett & Luke Taylor (Radiohead, Jack White) and starring Anya Taylor‑Joy and Charles Melton. The track is the latest preview of the band’s upcoming studio album Foreign Tongues, arriving July 10 via Capitol Records. The single is paired with another album cut, “Divine Intervention,” one of two tracks featuring Robert Smith of The Cure.

As momentum builds toward the album’s release, “Jealous Lover” showcases the Stones’ enduring ability to glide between genres with ease. While previous single “In The Stars” leaned into upbeat pop‑rock, the new track dives into a smooth, soulful R&B groove, driven by Mick Jagger’s striking falsetto performance.

Rooted in the band’s lifelong love of rhythm and blues, “Jealous Lover” blends infectious hooks, sharp lyricism, and rich musicianship. Jagger delivers a sly warning to an overly curious partner, mixing humor, swagger, and vivid storytelling. Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood shape the song’s melodic identity with expressive, interlocking guitar lines, while Darryl Jones (bass) and Steve Jordan (drums, percussion) lock into a deep, confident groove. Longtime collaborator Steve Winwood adds warm Rhodes and organ textures, with additional layers from producer Andrew Watt and keyboardist Matt Clifford rounding out the track’s soulful atmosphere.
