The Temperance Movement Unveil New Single “Silverlight Blues” Ahead of Their Long‑Awaited Album New Promise Land Incorporated

One of Britain’s most celebrated modern rock bands, The Temperance Movement, return with their brand‑new single “Silverlight Blues,” offering another glimpse into their long‑awaited studio album New Promise Land Incorporated, set for release on October 9th via Earache Records.

Their comeback has unfolded with real momentum. “Eat You Alive” arrived first, a fiery, swaggering reintroduction that set the tone for the band’s new era. “Always Been Love” followed, easing the tempo but deepening the groove. Now “Silverlight Blues” lands with bright melody and a feel‑good pulse that perfectly captures the spirit of their return. The accompanying video sees the band back at Fish Factory Studios, the birthplace of their UK Top 20 debut album.

New Promise Land Incorporated marks a major new chapter. Recorded in April 2026 and produced and mixed by Ethan Johns (Kings of Leon, Laura Marling, Ray LaMontagne), the album is the band’s first collection of new material in eight years. It channels the raw electricity that has always defined The Temperance Movement: live‑to‑tape energy, soulful songwriting, blues‑drenched riffs, towering grooves and the unmistakable chemistry of five musicians reconnecting at exactly the right moment.

The record moves confidently between explosive rock’n’roll and moments of striking vulnerability. The psychedelic pulse of “Shadows” sets the tone, while lead single “Eat You Alive” drives forward with infectious urgency. Tracks like “Mongrels” highlight the band’s gift for understated beauty, and “Saving Grace” stands among their most emotionally resonant work to date.

It’s a deeply human album  a celebration of everything that has always made The Temperance Movement such a compelling force both on record and on stage. Emerging as one of the key bands behind rock’s resurgence in the 2010s, they injected fresh vitality into a sound rooted in the swagger and soul of The Black Crowes, The Faces and The Rolling Stones. Their catalogue includes multiple UK Top 40 albums, including 2018’s A Deeper Cut, which reached #6 and cemented their status as one of Britain’s leading rock acts.

After an extended hiatus, the band made their long‑awaited return to the stage in 2025, and the reaction was immediate. Their UK and European comeback tour brought sold‑out shows, venue upgrades and ecstatic crowds, culminating in a triumphant sold‑out night at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town.

That momentum has only grown. Throughout summer 2026, The Temperance Movement headlined major festivals across Europe  Steelhouse Festival, Maid of Stone, Azkena Rock Festival, Notodden Blues Festival, Rootsy Summer Fest  proving their connection with audiences has only strengthened during their time away.

With a major 21‑date UK and European headline tour set to follow the album’s release, New Promise Land Incorporated is shaping up to be one of the defining rock returns of 2026.
