UK Southern‑Rock Quartet Wood Burnt Red Ignite with Debut Album Hold On Tight and New Single “Best Things”
Riding a wave of early acclaim, UK southern‑rock upstarts Wood Burnt Red are gearing up for a breakout moment with their debut album Hold On Tight, landing Friday, September 4. Packed with country‑soul swagger, southern‑rock bite, and the band’s trademark grit, the record arrives alongside their sharp, witty new single “Best Things” and its equally cheeky music video.

A southern‑fried rock‑and‑roll stomper with a country twist, “Best Things” takes a playful jab at modern‑day image culture and the pressure to look like you’ve got it all together  even when your bank account says otherwise.

“Best Things is a feel‑good song about being completely skint,” frontman Tom Franklin laughs. “You’ve got a home you don’t own, a car you haven’t paid for, a mortgage you can barely afford and a pension that thinks you’re worthless  but from the outside, you’re absolutely smashing it.”

The band leans into the absurdity of “keeping up with the Joneses,” poking fun at the grind of chasing a lifestyle that’s increasingly out of reach. “We work ourselves into the ground to buy things we can’t afford,” they say. “It’s not meant to preach  it’s meant to make you laugh, sing along, and maybe feel a bit better when you check your bank balance.”

Hold On Tight is the album Wood Burnt Red were destined to make: loud, honest, and alive. Across eleven tracks, the band tears through love, loss, resilience, and the moments that shape us, balancing roof‑raising anthems with raw, intimate storytelling. It’s the sound of a band firing on all cylinders  explosive when it needs to be, vulnerable when it matters, and unmistakably Wood Burnt Red from the first ringing chord to the final fade.
