TogethermenT Records is proud to announce the release of the Fourth full-length studio album by the critically acclaimed prog rock band ANYONE. The album is entitled “In Humanity” and will be released on October 12th (Pre-Order on Sept 12th). The album will be available in download, streaming and CD on over 200 digital distributors including iTunes, Spotify and Amazon.
 
This new DOUBLE album marks a major shift towards a highly progressive direction with founder Riz Story performing all instrumentation in a rare display of virtuosity, as well as producing, mixing and mastering. Featuring a guest lead vocal appearance by YES vocalist (and former ANYONE member) Jon Davison on the song “Misanthropist.” BILLBOARD MAGAZINE said, “ANYONE has invented a new breed of rock, quite literally.”  
 
Says Riz, “This album was conceived as a soundtrack to my feature film (and novel) of the same title and so it is highly conceptual and dynamic. The story takes place in the future when mankind has made the earth uninhabitable and venture into the cosmos to find a planet that is even more beautiful than earth, which they immediately begin to destroy. I wanted to explore the outer limits of my creativity and musicianship and pushed myself to play all the instruments, particularly the drums, in a way that was experimental and exploratory. Most all of the playing was improvised, and therefore came from a place free of thought or design. All told, I've been working on this album for almost a decade.”
 
ANYONE was formed by Riz Story, along with Jon Davison (Yes) and Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters) in the early 90’s in Laguna Beach, California. Hawkins and Davison were replaced by the time the band signed with RoadRunner Records in 2000. Their self-titled debut album received much critical acclaim including a 5-star rating from Rolling Stone. In October of 2016 the single “Fly Away” was featured in Story’s debut feature film “A Winter Rose” and became the most listened to rock song in America on digital formats, hitting #1 on the DRT National Airplay Rock Chart. The 2020 album release of “On the ending earth…” was met with widespread critical acclaim.

Toen The Rolling Stones begin deze maand aankondigden dat ze in de Verenigde Staten zouden touren, was al gemeld dat drummer Charlie Watts niet mee zou gaan. Als reden werd een medische ingreep vermeld. Watts moest rust nemen, luidde het.
​In 2004 moest Watts al behandeld worden voor keelkanker.

Watts werd in 1941 in Londen geboren en begon te drummen in de vroege jaren zestig in de rhythm en blues clubs van de Britse hoofdstad. In die periode ontmoette hij Brian Jones, Mick Jagger en Keith Richards en in 1963 sloot hij zich aan hun band, The Rolling Stones.

​De groep kende de daaropvolgende jaren wereldwijd succes en groeide uit tot de grootste rock-’n-rollband ter wereld. Verschillende bandleden kwamen meermaals in opspraak, maar Watts liet zich zelden of nooit betrappen op uitspattingen. Ook op het podium liet hij frontman Jagger en de anderen de show stelen, terwijl hij zelf achter de drums een onovertroffen rust uitstraalde.

​Het houdt niet op! De Britse saxofonist Brian Travers, bekend als een van de leden en oprichters van de band UB40, is op 62-jarige leeftijd overleden. Zijn dood werd vandaag bekendgemaakt via het Twitter-account van de band. Travers was al enige tijd ziek. Brian Travers stond aan de wieg van UB40, de band die op 1 januari 1978 werd opgericht door een stel werkloze vrienden die behalve hun jeugd ook een voorliefde voor reggae deelden. Zanger Ali Campbell kreeg in een café ruzie met iemand die zijn favoriete muziek afkraakte en tijdens de ontstane vechtpartij verloor hij bijna z'n linkeroog. De schadevergoeding die hij kreeg, 4000 pond, werd gebruikt om instrumenten van te kopen. Nog voordat de groepsleden behoorlijk konden spelen, waren Ali en Brian Campbell al bezig om overal posters op te hangen. De naam UB 40 stond voor Unemployment Benefit 40, een formulier waarmee een deel van de leden destijds een werkloosheidsuitkering aanvroeg. UB 40 verkocht wereldwijd ruim 100 miljoen albums. In 1982, het jaar waarin het album ‘UB 44’ verscheen, toerde de band door Afrika. In oktober was Nederland aan de beurt en nam het programma ‘Countdown’ een concert op dat begin 1983 werd uitgezonden. Het nummer ‘Food For Thought’ haalde in een live-uitvoering de Nederlandse Top 40. De grote doorbraak in Nederland volgde kort daarna met het coveralbum ‘Labour Of Love’, waarvan de nummer 1 hit ‘Red Red Wine’ (Neil Diamond) kwam. Hierna volgden Top 5 hits als ‘Please Don’t Make Me Cry’, ‘I Got You Babe’ (met Chrissie Hynde), ‘Sing Our Own Song’, ‘Maybe Tomorrow’, ‘Reckless’ (met Afrika Bambaataa), ‘Breakfast In Bed’ (met Chrissie Hinde), ‘Where Did I Go Wrong’, ‘Homely Girl’, ’Kingston Town’, ‘I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight’ (met Robert Palmer), ‘I Can’t Help Falling In Love’ en ‘Baby Come Back’ (met Pato Banton). Vijf van deze singles haalden de eerste plaats van de Top 40. De fraaie saxofoonsolo op ‘Food For Thought’ is van Brian Travers. Hij ruste in vrede!

THE BEATLES AND INDIA FILM TELLS THE STORY OF THE BEATLES’ CULTURALLY GROUND-BREAKING TIME IN INDIA

​A brand-new major documentary and companion album are set to be released this autumn, exploring The Beatles’ lasting legacy from their culturally ground-breaking time spent in India.

The Beatles And India is a unique historical chronicle of the enduring love affair between The Beatles and India that started more than half a century ago. Rare archival footage, recordings and photographs, eye-witness accounts and expert comments along with location shoots across India, bring alive the fascinating journey of George, John, Paul and Ringo from their high octane celebrity lives in the West to a remote Himalayan ashram in search of spiritual bliss that inspires an unprecedented burst of creative songwriting. It is the first serious exploration of how India shaped the development of the greatest ever rock band and their own pioneering role bridging two vastly different cultures.

Inspired by Ajoy Bose’s book, Across The Universe - The Beatles In India,  British Indian music entrepreneur Reynold D’Silva has now taken the amazing saga of The Beatles and India further by producing Bose’s directorial debut.  Bose and cultural researcher, co-director,  Pete Compton,  have created an audio-visual presentation that stands apart from the many documentaries on the band,  delving deep into the most crucial period of their evolution from the world’s most famous pop stars into multi-faceted pioneering musical artists.

The Beatles and India will premiered on 6th June at the BFI as part of the Tongues On Fire UK Asian Film Festival ahead of a full DVD release on 29th October 2021.

Coinciding with the full release of the film will be a companion album on Silva Screen Records, The Beatles and India: Songs Inspired by the Film, which will feature interpretations of Beatles songs that they were inspired to write from their time in India from contemporary Indian artists. ​Larry Harlow, a pianist, arranger, producer and activist who helped to popularize salsa in the U.S., died early last Friday morning of heart failure. His death was confirmed by family members, who said that he had been hospitalized for kidney issues. He was 82.
Known affectionately to his fans and fellow musicians as El Judío Maravilloso ("The Marvelous Jew"), Harlow was the only non-Latino among the fabled stable of bandleaders on the Fania Records label. He was raised Lawrence Ira Kahn to a Brooklyn Jewish musical family, but earned his superlative by studying Afro-Cuban music in Havana in the late 1950s, leaving just as the Cuban Revolution took over the country in 1959.
In interviews Harlow has said he was the first artist signed to Fania, a fledgling record company that would become a musical and cultural juggernaut of Afro-Caribbean dance music for almost two decades. Harlow was a multi-instrumentalist, having studied at the famed New York High School of Music and Arts, and his vast musical knowledge was called upon as he produced of over 250 albums for other artists, as well as 50 for his own Orquesta Harlow.
Among his many firsts was his 1972 salsa opera, Hommy, patterned after the Who's popular rock opera, Tommy. It told the story of a deaf and blind young man who had a particular skill for Afro-Cuban percussion. The album is credited with reviving the career of Celia Cruz, whose performance on the track “Gracia Divina” catapulted her to worldwide stardom and icon status. Harlow staged two sold-out performances of Hommy at Carnegie Hall a year later, featuring many of the stars on the album. Lincoln Center mounted a revival of the work in 2014.
In a 2009 interview with the Americas Society/Council of the Americas, Harlow explained how his becoming a santero in the Afro Cuban spiritual tradition known as Santería in 1975 laid to rest any consideration of his non-Latino status among his peers and fans. In fact he fully embraced his bicultural existence when he named his 1975 album after the affectionate nickname he had already earned: El Judio Maravilloso.
Among the hundreds of musicians Harlow produced or recorded with were his brother, multi-instrumentalist Andy Harlow, and the Fania All Stars, a superstar collection of the label's top bandleaders.
Harlow was known for his prodigious jazz piano talent, and mixing that prowess with Afro-Caribbean tradition became his musical calling card. He was no stranger to experimentation, incorporating R&B and funk into his music, and using electronic keyboard sounds on his later recordings. In 2005 Harlow reached an entirely new audience when he collaborated with alternative-rock band The Mars Volta on its second LP, Frances the Mute, and appeared live with the group on select occasions after its release.
Beyond his work as an artist and producer, Harlow was a tireless advocate for Latin musicians. He championed their fair representation at the Grammy Awards, and was himself presented with the Trustees Award during the 2008 Latin Grammy award ceremony.
Up until shortly before he fell ill, Harlow continued to perform with a group of Fania legacy artists, as well as his own bands, all of which featured younger talents he personally had selected to mentor.

The new single by Nashville based indie outfit Flight Attendant is a cover of the '70s US rock radio classic ‘Magic Carpet Ride’, originally by Steppenwolf. The musically eclectic group have put their own unique spin on the song with laidback guitars and viola melodies, plus a chorus that takes listeners on an airplane ride through the clouds.

“In the past year we have felt nostalgia for the past, for times of travel, and we have missed friends and family,” says viola player Nikki Christie. “The change in the world has been palpable. Painting a picture of dreamier times, we covered ‘Magic Carpet Ride’ to conjure up a brief but much needed transportation of the moment.”
A video made for the song is a behind-the-scenes collage of both magical and sentimental moments that the group have experienced in their up-and-down journey since the pandemic halted the rapid progress they had previously been enjoying. A patchwork of selfies, green screen weirdness, lighting experiments and questionable dance routines, it provides a light-hearted look at who Flight Attendant are both as a band and as a group of friends.

Dave Pen is an integral part of the successful progressive/alternative rock collective Archive as their co-frontman and co-songwriter. He also fronts the alternative rock duo BirdPen and has collaborated with film/TV composer Robin Foster on various projects that includes We Are Bodies.

After 25 years making music, Pen has announced the forthcoming release of his first ever solo album, ‘Abran Wish & The Light Party’, a concept record about a cult called The Light Party and its leader. “I have always been slightly obsessed with cults,” he states. “I’m fascinated by the mindset of it all and how easily we can be manipulated through fear, feelings, love and control. I’ve written songs about cult mentality for both Archive and BirdPen, but never an entire concept work. I wanted to create a story about someone who was lost with nothing but is then given a new chance of life from a higher power.”

As for the name of the record’s chief protagonist, Pen explains that “I came up with Abran Wish and his wife Adele Cutler after making anagrams from words involving cults, developing the story as I was writing the songs in my home studio in Southampton. I had wanted to make an album of my own for a while and for a first solo effort I wanted it to be made entirely by myself. The various lockdowns and complete disappearance of European touring for both Archive and BirdPen provided the opportunity to do so.”

Musically, the album traverses alternative and progressive rock, atmospheric and epic post-punk, subtle psychedelia and electronica. The piano-led opener ‘Awakening’ offers a haunted, dreamlike introduction to proceedings, with the later ‘Death Of Adele’ possessing the same qualities, while songs such as ‘Recruit’ and ‘Unseen Unheard Unknown’ embrace Krautrock and psych-tinged guitars and ‘It Won’t Be Like The Movies’ adds a spaghetti western flourish. In the closing ‘Bound’, a sampled hurdy-gurdy leads into an anthemic finale about leaving for another place that is not of this world. “I like to think that mixing these musical elements takes the listener on a journey during which the story can be told,” concludes Pen.

The first single to be released from the album is ‘The Storm’, a spatial acoustic song about the end times coming, when the walls are closing in, invaders are fast approaching and there is nowhere left to run. The video for it forms part of an eventual trilogy to promote the album, with ‘The Storm’ actually being part 2.

‘Samba Doido (Crazy Samba)’ is definitely the best term to describe the music of Brazilian band Azymuth. Drummer and bandleader Phil Martin of the Jazzinvaders has been a fan for years. In 2014 The Jazzinvaders were offered an opportunity to work with Azymuth’s bassist Alex Malheiros and drummer Ivan Conti Mamão. After meeting and gigging they decided it would be fun to spend some days in the studio to record some and see what would happen. When the opportunity occurred, new material was written on the spot and some Azymuth classics received the Jazzinvaders treatment. In practically no time (two days) there appeared to be a completely spontaneous recorded album! 
 
Now in 2021 the album “Last Summer in Rio” is finally released worldwide after it's initial release in Japan back in 2019. It contains five brand new tracks and five re-arranged Azymuth classics. Just like the band did on their previous albums, they managed to stick to their trademark and typical ‘Jazzinvaders Sound’. This time combined with nicely flavoured and surprising samba beats by Alex and Ivan. On top of that Lilian Vieira (Zuco 103) added some extra vocal spices. What a treat!
 
The Jazzinvaders unique sound allowed the band to tour all over the world over the past 15 years playing lots of festivals and clubs in countries like Germany, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Austria and also Japan! The bands releases can be found all over the globe and the media seem to like the band a lot too. 
 
On ‘Last Summer in Rio’ The Jazzinvaders present jazz in a refreshing way like no one else can; two steps back and three steps forward. By starting with a groove, The Jazzinvaders will initiate a journey taking the listener where probably someone has gone before, but no one has returned from yet!

In zijn huis in Nashville is Don Everly (84) overleden. Hij vormde met zijn broer Phil het legendarische rock-'n-rollduo The Everly Brothers. Samen hadden ze eind jaren 50 en begin jaren 60 wereldwijd hits met "Bye bye love" en "All I have to do is dream". In 1984 bij hun comeback scoorden ze "On the wings of a nightingale".

​The Everly Brothers zijn een begrip te noemen. Ze prijkten in de hitlijsten naast kleppers als Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Pat Boone en Chuck Berry. Isaac Donald en Philip Everly starten hun carrière in 1957 met hun eerste album. Ze kiezen voor harmonieuze zangpartijen en gitaren, een gouden combinatie.
De hits worden aan elkaar geregen. "Bye bye love" is meteen een schot in de roos. Het nummer is eigenlijk bestemd voor Elvis, maar die past ervoor. "Wake up little Susie" en het zeemzoete "All I have to do is dream" volgen snel, net als een platencontract bij Warner Bros. Records. Andere klassiekers van de broers zijn onder meer "Love hurts" en "Crying in the rain". 
Een groot deel van de Everly-hits wordt geschreven door het Amerikaanse koppel Felice en Boudleaux Bryant, maar ook eigen composities. Veel liedjes worden later opnieuw hits in de versie van een cover. Denk maar aan Nazareth die in 1976 de tegelplakker "Love hurts" opvist.
De broers gaan in 1973 met ruzie uiteen. Don worstelt met een drank- en drugsverslaving. Pas in de jaren 80 leggen ze het bij en maken een comeback. De comeback wordt bekroond met de hit "On the wings of a nightingale", van de hand van niemand minder dan... Paul McCartney. Dave Edmunds ("I hear you knocking") produceert de plaat.
The Everly Brothers worden opgenomen in de Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Hun laatste album dateert van 1988, "Some hearts". In 1997 krijgen ze een Grammy voor hun volledige carrière. 
In 2014 was ook Phil, de andere Everly Brothers, overleden. Hij werd 74 jaar.

​Multi-Grammy Award-winning Rock and Roll Hall of Fame guitarist Carlos Santana has announced today that his star-studded, masterful new album, Blessings and Miracles, will be released worldwide via BMG on October 15. The record’s dazzling first single, “Move,” which sees the music legend and guitar icon reteamed with Matchbox 20 singer Rob Thomas, will be released today.

In addition to “Move,” Santana’s collaboration “She’s Fire” with Diane Warren & G-Eazy will be available with select pre-orders.  

Blessings and Miracles is one of the most ambitious, inspired and magical albums of Santana’s storied career, on which the legendary guitarist aims higher than ever. “The title of this album comes from my belief that we’re born with heavenly powers that allows us to create blessings and miracles,” Santana says. “The world programs you to be unworthy of those gifts, but we have to utilize light, spirit and soul – they’re indestructible and immutable. Those are the three main elements on this album.” 

In addition to Rob Thomas, Blessings and Miracles sees Santana collaborating with a diverse host of brilliant artists, writers and producers including Chris Stapleton, G-Eazy, Diane Warren, Steve Winwood, Chick Corea, Rick Rubin, Corey Glover, Kirk Hammett, Ally Brooke, American Authors and Narada Michael Walden, among others, on genre-bending, hook-filled knockout musical celebrations. 

The record also features bravura performances from members of Santana’s touring band (including drummer Cindy Blackman Santana and singer Tommy Anthony), as well as impeccable vocals and keyboards by the guitarist’s son, Salvador Santana, and stunning lead vocals by daughter, Stella Santana.

Expectations understandably run high with the pairing of Carlos Santana and Rob Thomas, whose 1999 multiple Grammy-winning smash “Smooth” became a worldwide staple – and the two performers have turned in a new classic. “Move” is a grinding, grooving and breathtaking mix of pop and Latin rock with sure-fire hooks for days. Thomas, backed by the vocal talents of American Authors, is dynamic and sensual, and Santana matches his supreme performance with solos that explode with tectonic force.

“‘Move’ came about very much like how ‘Smooth’ happened,” Santana recalls. “It was like divine intelligence behind the scenes, and I just knew I had to record it with Rob. The song is about awakening your molecules. Ignite and activate yourself – you know, move. When Rob and I work together, we have a sound that’s splendiferous.”

The album’s second single, “She’s Fire,” is a hypnotically soulful ballad that works its way into your body chemistry and stays there. It’s one of two cuts written by mega-award-winning, chart-topping composer Diane Warren, and it sees Santana wrapping his exquisite guitar melodies around an enticing narrative spun by the rapper G-Eazy. “I’m so honored that Diane reached out to me and sent me her songs,” says Santana. Regarding G-Eazy, the guitarist is no less effusive. “He’s so talented. I’m thrilled at how we both sound on this song,” he says. “It reminds me of when Bill Graham once told me: ‘Your music is spiritual and sensual. That’s who you are.’ And that’s the message of ‘She’s Fire.’” 

Santana spent much of the past two years recording Blessings and Miracles, serving as producer and collaborating with other record makers. Recording during Covid created a challenge only in that some musicians were separated geographically, beamed into sessions via technology; inspiration, however, was never in short supply. “It’s amazing how we can record together these days without being in the same studio,” Santana notes. “I just close my eyes and I’m in the same room with whomever I’m playing with, even if they’re somewhere far away. We share frequencies together.”

As for the stellar talents that appear alongside him on Blessings and Miracles, Santana admits that he’s sometimes surprised at how they magically enter his life. “I don’t choose people – it’s like I’m chosen,” he says. “But, of course, I’m honored to work with such incredible artists. I'm a surfer riding those waves that become songs by different artists, creators and architects. I’m very fortunate that I have the opportunity to do that. It’s a gift I don’t take for granted.” 

Ahead of the release of Blessings and Miracles, Santana and his band will mark their long-awaited return to the concert stage after 18 months off. On August 25, Santana will resume their multi-year residency at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas (shows run from August 25 thru September. 4, with additional dates from November 3 thru December 11). 

Santana’s Blessings and Miracles tour begins on September 11 at the Borgata Spa & Resort in Atlantic City, NJ, and will make stops in Richmond, VA, Orlando, Augusta, Tulsa, and more before it concludes on October 2 at the Choctaw Grand Theater in Durant, OK.

For more than five decades – from Santana’s earliest days as a groundbreaking Afro-Latin-blues-rock fusion outfit in San Francisco – Carlos Santana has been the visionary force behind artistry that transcends musical genres and generational, cultural and geographical boundaries. To date, Santana has won ten Grammy Awards and three Latin Grammys, with a record-tying nine Grammys for a single project for 1999’s Supernatural (including Album of the Year and Record of the Year for “Smooth”). He has received the Billboard Century Award (1996), was ushered into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (1998), received the Billboard Latin Music Awards’ Lifetime Achievement honor (2009), and was the recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors Award (2013). Among many other distinctions, Carlos Santana has been cited by Rolling Stone as #15 on their list of the “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time” and has joined the Rolling Stones as one of only two bands to have an album reach the Top 10 in every decade since the 1960s. 

In 2018, he released his first MasterClass, and recently celebrated three epic milestones – the 20th anniversary of his groundbreaking album Supernatural, the 50th anniversary of his legendary performance at Woodstock, and the 50th anniversary of his masterpiece Abraxas. His most recent album, the powerful, energy-infused Africa Speaks (2019), inspired by the sounds and rhythms of Africa, was called his “best record in decades” (NPR) and was ranked among "the fiercest albums in Santana’s 50-year career” by The New York Times.

Het aftellen is begonnen bij de organisatoren en bezoekers van Crammerock. Binnen exact 2 weken openenen de festivaldeuren voor 2 dagen feest en muziek. Vandaag bevestigen ook The Charlatans, De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig, Brutus en DIRK. hun komst naar het festival in Stekene. De Britse band Suede cancelt het optreden omwille van privé-redenen.

 
Minder goed nieuws voor de fans van SUEDE. De Britse cultgroep met flamboyante popsongs laat in een statement weten dat ze hun komst naar crammerock moeten annuleren. “Unfortunately Suede and crew won't be able to make it to the festival due to personal reasons. We're very sorry for this and we hope to be back in Belgium soon."

De editie van Crammerock ziet er veelbelovend uit met de eerder aangekondigde komst van o.a. dEUS, Balthazar, Doe Maar, The Kooks, Arsenal, Tourist LeMC en Zwangere Guy. Daar komen nu ook The Charlatans, De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig, Brutus & Dirk bij op zaterdag. De laatste namen en het tijdsschema worden in de loop van de volgende weken aangekondigd. 
 
De britse band The Charlatans scoorden stevig in de hitlijsten in de jaren 90’tig en ken je vast wel van de hitsingles The Only One I Know, Just When You're Thinkin 'Things Over, One to Another en North Country Boy. Ze komen op zaterdag naar stekene voor een stevige portie rock en britpop.
 
Inmiddels 16 (!) jaar geleden kwam De Jeugd Van Tegenwoordig met hun bom van een debuut 'Watskeburt'. Sindsdien stonden Vjeze Fur, Wiwa en Faberyayo op zowat elk podium in Vlaanderen en Nederland en dropten ze het ene knaller na het andere. Verwacht je aan een karrenvracht hits op zaterdag.

De laatste namen en het tijdsschema worden in de loop van de volgende weken aangekondigd.

Eerder werd aangegeven dat het aantal beschikbare tickets voorlopig werd beperkt tot 13.500 tickets per dag – deze tickets waren in recordtempo de deur uit.  Er is een wachtlijst geopend op www.crammerock.be. “Begin volgende week wordt bekend gemaakt of er nog meer tickets vrijgegeven worden. We raden iedereen sterk aan om zich in te schrijven op de wachtlijst. Zo krijg je als eerste de kans om te bestellen.”

Toegang tot Crammerock is enkel mogelijk met een geldig Covid Safe Ticket. Op deze manier kunnen festivalbezoekers aantonen dat ze gevaccineerd zijn of negatief getest zijn. Op en rond het festivalterrein zullen eveneens maatregelen genomen worden om het festival veilig te laten verlopen voor alle bezoekers, medewerkers en artiesten. Crammerock komt begin volgende week met bijkomend advies voor de bezoekers.

Om een geldig covid safe ticket te kunnen voorleggen moeten bezoekers voldoen aan minstens 1 van de volgende 4 voorwaarden: je bezit een vaccinatiecertificaat waarmee je bewijst dat je al minstens 2 weken volledig gevaccineerd bent tegen COVID-19, je bezit een negatief PCR-testcertificaat, je bezit een negatief antigeen(snel)testcertificaat of je bezit een herstelcertificaat (maximaal 6 maanden oud) dat aantoont dat je hersteld bent van COVID-19 na een eerdere positieve PCR-test.  

 
Crammerock is een tweedaags, complexloos muziekfestival tijdens het eerste weekend van september in Stekene, tussen Antwerpen en Gent. Jaarlijks passeren bijna vijftig acts op de drie podia, die garant staan voor non-stop muziek uit alle genres. Dankzij een collectief aan vrijwilligers weet het festival zich te onderscheiden met lage ticketprijzen en een ongedwongen sfeer. ​The Rolling Stones have today announced the release of 40th anniversary, expanded deluxe editions of their chart-topping, multi-platinum 1981 album Tattoo You, via Universal Music.

The newly-remastered set, out on October 22, will be accompanied by no fewer than nine previously unreleased tracks from the era. The first of these, the irresistible rocker 'Living In The Heart Of Love’, is available now on all digital services, and Tattoo You (40th Anniversary Edition) is available to pre-order in multiple formats here.
 
Today's announcement comes 40 years to the week since the celebrated album was first released on August 24, 1981, and as the rock 'n' roll legends prepare to return to the road with 13 new dates on the No Filter tour in the US. The new itinerary starts on September 26 in St. Louis and extending into November.
 
Anticipation for the new editions of Tattoo You will be high among Stones devotees and new admirers alike. The 40th anniversary remaster of the original 11-track album includes such enduring favourites as 'Hang Fire’, 'Waiting On A Friend' (showcasing jazz saxophone giant Sonny Rollins) and of course the opening track that's been a band signature ever since, 'Start Me Up’. The deluxe formats will also include Lost & Found: Rarities and Still Life: Wembley Stadium 1982.

The Lost & Found disc contains no fewer than nine songs from the period of the album's original release, newly completed and enhanced with additional vocals and guitar by the band. Among these, 'Living In The Heart Of Love' is a quintessential Stones rock workout with all of the group on top form, complete with urgent guitar licks and fine piano detail.
 
Other highlights of Lost & Found include a killer version of 'Shame, Shame, Shame’, first recorded in 1963 by one of the band's blues heroes, Jimmy Reed; their reading of Dobie Gray's soul gem 'Drift Away'; and a fascinating reggae-tinged version of 'Start Me Up’.


Still Life: Wembley Stadium 1982 is an unmissable memento of the band's London show in June of that year on the Tattoo You tour. The mighty 26-track set is packed with Stones mega-hits, including an opening 'Under My Thumb' and all-time greats such as 'Let's Spend The Night Together’, 'Honky Tonk Women' and 'Brown Sugar’.
 
The Wembley show has covers of the Temptations' 'Just My Imagination,' Eddie Cochran's 'Twenty Flight Rock,' the Miracles' 'Going To A Go Go' and early rock 'n' roller the Big Bopper's 'Chantilly Lace.' It also features early live workouts for tracks from the then-new Tattoo You such as 'Start Me Up’, 'Neighbours’, 'Little T&A' and 'Hang Fire’.
 
Universal Music's Tattoo You (40th Anniversary Edition) follows the 2020 reissue of the Stones' 1973 landmark Goats Head Soup, which took the album back to No. 1 in the UK. Remarkably, this marked the second time their peerless catalogue had produced a UK chart-topper twice over, after 2010's deluxe edition of their 1972 staple Exile On Main St.

On first release, Tattoo You, produced by the Glimmer Twins with associate producer Chris Kimsey, topped the charts in the US (where it went quadruple platinum), Canada, Australia and across much of Europe, with gold and platinum awards around the world.

Ed Sheeran heeft zojuist zijn nieuwe album '=' (Equals) aangekondigd. De plaat verschijnt op 29 oktober en telt veertien nummers die gaan over onderwerpen als liefde, verlies, veerkracht en het vaderschap. Eerder bracht hij al de hit 'Bad Habits' uit, zijn tiende nummer-één hit in het Verenigd Koninkrijk. Bij ons staat de single al zes weken bovenaan de Vlaamse Ultratop charts. Vanaf vandaag is ook het nummer 'Visiting Hours' te beluisteren.

'= (Equals)' is het vierde deel in Sheeran's albumserie met symbolische tekens als titel. Hij schreef de nummers op het album over een periode van vier jaar, na het uitbrengen van het baanbrekende '÷' (Divide).

Op '=', maakt Ed de balans op van zijn leven en de mensen die daarin een rol spelen. Op de nummers 'The Joker And The Queen', 'First Times' en '2step' zingt Ed over de liefde, 'Visiting Hours' gaat dan weer over verlies, 'Can't Stop The Rain' over veerkracht, 'Sandman' en 'Leave Your Life' over vaderschap en in 'Tides' reflecteert Ed over zijn carrière.

De songs werden geschreven in Suffolk, Londen, Zweden en LA en de productie was in handen van Sheeran, FRED en Johnny McDaid. Ook Steve Mac, Joe Rubel, Amy Wadge, Foy Vance, Elvira Anderfjard, David Hodges, Andrew Watt, Lou Bell, Natalie Hemby en Ben Kweller werkten mee aan het album. Ed's broer Matthew, een componist, droeg bij aan de prachtige strijkersarrangementen op 'First Time' en 'The Joker And The Queen'.

His musical background began with a strong family of 8 talented and musically gifted brothers. Mr. Kenny’s father is a saxophonist and percussionist whom he always looked up to in his early years, where Kenny first learned the art of playing the saxophone. After mastering the saxophone in the ghetto, he also learned how to play the piano, guitar and drums, then he started teaching his younger brothers at his father’s request because he was the eldest. Mr. Nightingale writes songs  and creates sound that comes from the deep! That alone has confirmed to him that playing angelical sounds of Smooth Jazz with a unique blend form all parts of the world is what he is commissioned to this day. 

Kenny is a Gospel Choice Awards 2016 Nominee for Best Instrumental Album. In 2020/ 2021 Kenny's single "Coltrane To Montgomery" hit many Smooth Jazz airplay charts. Kenny's new single "Hello", originally written by the legendary Lionel Richie, was adapted to a salsa-latin rhythm.

​Brad Alexander, a Los Angeles native, has been in the music business for many years. His roots come from playing Gospel music in church. As an accomplished music producer, songwriter and pianist he has assisted many other artist in presenting their music to the world. He has served as a keyboard player for artist in different genres of music, but Smooth Jazz is where his heart is. Alexander's love for music and his musical artistry is evident. 
 
August 23, 2016 Alexander released his debut CD project titled Just Between Us, where he showcases his high caliber musicianship and soulful sounds with many original compositions such as "Missing You" and "Feel Da Music." He did a cover of Chaka Khans "Through The Fire," and Bill Withers "Lovely Day." 
 
In 2020 he released a new project that featured the first single "Straight Up" which was produced by Adam Hawley. He followed up that single with a cover of The Gap Bands "Yearning For Your Love." 
 
His new single "It's About Time" features saxophonist Dee Lucas. "It's About Time" is an Alexander composition that he produced and definitely continues to showcase his musical talents.

​ “A solid relationship is when someone has your back and will stand by your side no matter what,” explains Boney James about the title of his new CD. “Solid is a word that has a few meanings, but this one really resonated with me and became the theme of the record.”
 
Solid is the four-time GRAMMY nominated saxophonist’s seventeenth album as a leader and was released by Concord Records, April 17, 2020. Solid followed up his smash 2017 release Honestly which became his eleventh #1 Billboard Contemporary Jazz Album.

Sometimes, inspiration is slow in coming, evasive and stubborn. Other times, if an artist is very fortunate, it simply flows, the music practically writing itself. That’s how Solid, the latest release from Boney James came to be. “This record really flowed at an unusually quick pace,” Boney says. “There was a lot of positive energy in making this music. Solid is a very upbeat record. As I was writing them, these songs put a smile on my face.”
 
All of Solid’s eleven tracks were produced and written or co-written by James. Three songs—“Full Effect,” “Tonic” and the title track—were built from licks played at sound-check by touring guitarist Kendall Gilder on the road in support of Honestly. “I said, hey, what’s that riff you’re playing?” James recalls, “And Kendall said, ‘that’s just something I’m messing around with.’ I got my iPhone and recorded them, then took it home and wrote the songs!”
 
James crafted many of the song titles (“Fresh Air”, “On The Path”, “Tonic)” to play off this theme, “Similar to my last CD Honestly, this new music is a reaction to how stressful the world feels these days. Music is a respite, it’s always ‘solid’ and it never lets me down.”
 
Boney James’ personal relationship with music has never been anything but solid. Picking up the sax at age 10 in his native New Rochelle, New York, “I immediately loved it, and it pretty quickly became my favorite thing to do.” By the time he entered his teens, James was gigging with bands, and he turned pro at 19. He apprenticed as a sideman for artists like Morris Day, The Isley Brothers, Teena Marie and many others, touring and doing sessions for seven years before cutting his first solo album in 1992. The independently released Trust led immediately to a major label deal and a string of increasingly successful recordings and nonstop touring.
 
Now a four-time GRAMMY nominee with four RIAA Gold records and career sales topping three million units, James continues to defy musical genres; A two time NAACP Award nominee, a Soul Train Award winner and named one of the Top 3 Billboard Contemporary Jazz Artists of the Decade.
 
James, who lives in Los Angeles with his wife of 34 years Director/Actress Lily Mariye, says he’s looking forward to heading out on the road and seeing how the Solid material evolves from night to night. “I love playing live, maybe more than I ever did. A lot of guys get tired of the traveling but it’s still a joy for me every time I go out there and play.”
 
It’s still a joy to his multitude of fans too. “I try to ‘be there’ for the people who are interested in my music,” says James, “to be Solid in that relationship and to not let anybody down. I often get great compliments from the people that come to my shows, that I ‘never disappoint’ them, and that’s very gratifying to me. That’s what I was trying to express with this title, that sense of character… to stand for something principled.”

​The Future sluit een reeks carrièremijlpalen af voor Rateliff en de band, waaronder een debuut in Saturday Night Live met een première uitvoering van Redemption, geschreven voor - en te horen in - de film Palmer met Justin Timberlake in de hoofdrol. Daarnaast was Nathaniel ook te zien op CMT Crossroads met country singer/songwriter Margo Price en deed hij met de band een eerste Tiny Desk (Home) Concert op NPR Music.
De opnames van het album gebeurden in Nathaniel zijn nieuwe studio Broken Creek Studio, net buiten Denver in Colorado. Hoewel herkenbaar, is het nieuwe werk geëvolueerd en tilt het de band naar een nieuw niveau.

The Future werd geproduced door Bradley Cook (Bon Iver, Kevin Morby, The War on Drugs) en R.M.B. - het productietrio bestaande uit Rateliff zelf, Patrick Meese (The Night Sweats) en James Barone (Beach House) - die ook het team was achter Rateliff zijn bejubelde soloalbum And It's Still Alright uit 2020. When Charles released ‘Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music’ in 1962, he showed the commercial potential of Country music. The singer’s versions of Country classics became one of the era’s best-selling country albums.

​"The Drummer Loves Ballads" is the debut album of John Armato. It is a unique full-album listening experience featuring extraordinary music, musicians, and moods, produced and engineered by some of the industry's top talent.

The album was designed to be a new soundtrack for lazy Sunday afternoons, romantic evenings, or melancholy midnights, but you'll swear it's a long-lost jazz favorite. It features more than 25 musicians, including the legends Houston Person and Warren Vache. Together they've created an album that is as rewarding to listen to closely as it is relaxing to listen to casually.

From intimate quartet settings to sweeping orchestral arrangements, "The Drummer Loves Ballads" (TDLB) wraps bittersweet stories in sophisticated rhythms, and it is a beautiful thing, indeed.

TDLB includes tributes to two beloved Kansas City musicians, the late Steve Patke and the late Kerry Strayer. It debuts an original tune commemorating the Trocadero, a now-forgotten jazz club in Kansas City that was a favorite destination for Armato's parents when they were dating. Three spoken-word tracks provide a narrative arc to the tunes and bring alive a personal backstory that set the album in motion nearly 40 years ago.

The song list includes music written or made famous by Henry Mancini, Benny Goodman, Horace Silver, Ahmad Jamal, Gerry Mulligan, John Williams, Alan and Marilyn Bergman, and other greats. At the core is a quartet that is occasionally complemented by lush string and wind arrangements courtesy Paul Roberts. Wayne Hawkins is on piano, Rod Fleeman is on guitar, Gerald Spaits is on bass, and Armato is the drummer who loves ballads.

Person and Vache headline a guest artist line-up that includes vocalist and Thelonious Monk Institute veteran/International Jazz Ambassador Lisa Henry, renowned clarinetist Lynn Zimmer, the late Jeff Lisenby (American Accordion Hall of Fame), Ron Gutierrez in a vocal duet with the late Molly Hammer, the warm bari sax of Brett Jackson, the "cashmere" tenor of Doug Talley, the gypsy-jazz viola of Steffen Drabek, and the stirring new vocal talent of Lucy Wijnands, 2021 winner of the prestigious Ella Fitzgerald Vocal Competition.

TDLB was produced by veteran touring and recording artist (and fellow drummer), John Cushon. It was recorded by Justin Wilson of Sound81. Additional tracking was engineered by Pete Millrose (with legendary vocalist Anne Phillips overseeing the Person/Vache session), and Keaton Comiskey. It was mixed and co-produced by six-time Grammy Award winner Howard Lindeman and mastered by the master himself, Greg Calbi of Sterling Sound.

The combination of traditional in-studio recording techniques, modern technology, not to mention some of the finest ears on earth, results in an album with the warmth of a classic jazz LP but with contemporary clarity and depth.
