Vier jaar later, in 2018, bracht Lewis zijn enige soloplaat ‘Out Of The Darkness’ uit. Tony Lewis ruste in vrede! Met dank aan Leo Weijers.

Go Analog Moonlight Gram Release Date : October 30th Columbus, Ohio rock band, Go Analog is back with a new EP recorded at the Oxide Shed in Athens, Ohio with producer/ engineer Eddie Ashworth (Sublime). The four piece band has been a mainstay in the Midwest for over a decade, but has not released any new songs in years. The songs for Moonlight Gram began to come together during a few stripped down jam sessions following a time when the band had not even hung out let alone played together for nearly a year. As the lyrics came and the sonics of the songs began to fill out, they knew they had to get back into the studio and lay them down.
Over five days Moonlight Gram was recorded with Ashworth helping them see their vision to fruition. The resulting EP is a wonderful throwback to early to mid 90s indie rock. With a guitar driven sound surrounding Eric Croft’s vocals the songs take on relationships both past and present, the situation the world finds itself in, and a bit of self awareness that only time passing can create. All of this wrapped in away that only good rock n roll can. 1. Wait 2. Oh My 3. Try 4. Give Me Back My Way 5. Bitter 6. WHIRLWIND follows his 2008 release, Pickpocket Witness, a production of all original tunes. It has taken 12 years for Haymer to release this new project because he’s been so busy touring as a longtime member of Arturo Sandoval’s band as well as leading his own popular trio and acting as West Coast accompanist for singer Jane Monheit. Haymer is an athlete and attended UC Irvine on a soccer scholarship, where he spent four years playing Division 1 soccer. His approach to the piano reflects his athleticism. While Haymer’s approach to playing the piano embodies his innate physicality, his aesthetics have been largely influenced by his years with Arturo Sandoval. WHIRLWIND was recorded live, before the pandemic shut down live shows, at Sam First, an L.A. club known for world class modern and straight-ahead jazz. Haymer and his trio have performed there many times over the years, and he thought it was the perfect place to capture the energy of a live performance. WHIRLWIND is a high energy album that befits its title. The album comprises six original tunes by Haymer and three standards. For Haymer, music is a dramatic art, where conflict and passion are expressed in a narrative framework. WHIRLWIND is a series of stories brought to life by three A-list musicians.

Met Pete York kwam Davis terecht in The Excelsior Jazz Band, die later evolueerde in The Spencer Davis Group. The Spencer Davis Group scoorde megahits als 'Keep On Running', 'Somebody Help Me', 'Gimme Some Lovin'' en 'I'm A Man'. Spencer Davis ruste in vrede! Met dank aan Leo Weijers. A member of the original line-up of acclaimed acapella group Zap Mama (alongside Marie Daulne, Fanchon Nuyens & Nadia Azifi), she took part in the recording of the band’s debut album (“Zap Mama”, aka “Adventures in Afropea 1”, released by Crammed Discs in 1991), and wrote the music and lyrics of one of the album’s highlights, ‘Take Me Coco’. Zap Mama: ‘Take Me Coco’ (written by Celine 'T Hooft) Drive-By Truckers are deep in despair, so they’re surprise-releasing already a new album. Unable to tour, the band channel their frustration and pessimism into “The New OK”. They only need five words to describe their decision during quarantine; “It’s all we can do”! DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS ‘surprise’ nieuwe single “The New OK”,
Met “The New OK” brengt eind dit jaar Drive-By Truckers hun tweede full-album uit in 2020. “I wanted to be on the road. To be sidelined with a brand new album and have to sit idly while so much that I love and hold dear falls apart before my very eyes has been intense, heartbreaking, anger provoking and very depressing. It has gone to the very heart of our livelihoods and threatened near everything that we have spent our lives trying to build. Here’s to the hope that we can make 2021 a better year than this one has been. In the meantime, here’s to THE NEW OK!”
José Padilla, the iconic Ibiza DJ known for his sets at the Café Del Mar, died on Sunday. The news was confirmed by his family via his social media accounts. Earlier this year Padilla revealed that he’d been diagnosed with colon cancer. A GoFundMe was launched to help cover his living expenses. He was 64.
“His family and friends would like to say thank you to everybody who sent donations and messages of support to help make his last few months easier, and to all the staff of Can Misses Hospital for taking care of him until the end,” a message on his Instagram reads. “Now he has gone and the sunset in Ibiza will never be the same without him, but the beautiful music of José Padilla will stay with us forever. Adiós maestro.” Born in Barcelona, Padilla is known widely as the “godfather of chill-out.” His Café Del Mar residency was the inspiration behind the popular mix series of the same name. He was an active DJ for over four decades. His first album Souvenir was released by Mercury Records in 1998; his last album was 2015’s So Many Colours. John (Johnny) Bush Shinn III (February 17, 1935 – October 16, 2020) was born in the Kashmere Gardens neighborhood in Houston, Texas. Bush subsequently moved to San Antonio in 1952, where he began a solo career in area honky-tonks such as the Texas Star Inn, before switching to drums. During this period, he earned his stage name, when an announcer mistakenly introduced him as "Johnny Bush". His uncle, the host of a local radio program on KTHT, urged Bush and his brother to play on air, giving Bush his first experience of performing in public. He was still popular in his native Texas at the time of his death. Bush died at 85 and suffered from pneumonia in the time leading up to his death.
His first RCA single, "Whiskey River", was climbing the charts with airplay on countless radio stations when his voice began faltering. Bush even felt he was being punished by God for his sins. Bush has since said: "I thought because of my promiscuous behavior and bad choices and being raised as a Baptist, that it was a punishment from God." Bush lost half of his vocal range and was sometimes unable to talk. RCA dropped him in 1974 after three albums, he developed a drug habit and was often stricken with performance anxiety when he was able to perform at all. After several misdiagnoses, doctors diagnosed the cause in 1978, when they discovered he had a rare neurological disorder called spasmodic dysphonia. Although this did not prevent him from recording, Bush's career began to take a downturn. He worked with a vocal coach in 1985 and was able to regain 70% of his original voice. With the success of his recent Botox treatments for his vocal condition and his successful career revival, Bush was a spokesman for people afflicted with vocal disorders. Bush was a country music singer, songwriter, and drummer. Bush, nicknamed the "Country Caruso", is best known for his distinctive voice and as the writer of "Whiskey River", a top-10 hit for himself and Willie Nelson's signature song. He listened to the western swing music of Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys and the honky-tonk sounds of artists such as Ernest Tubb, Lefty Frizzell, and Hank Thompson. As a drummer, he worked for bands such as the Mission City Playboys, the Texas Plainsmen, and the Texas Top Hands. Bush joined Ray Price's band, the Cherokee Cowboys, in 1963, along with a young Willie Nelson and Darrell McCall. His association with Price led Bush to Nashville and a contract to sing for record demonstrations. He also played in Nelson's band, the Record Men. With Nelson's financial backing, Bush recorded his first album in 1967, The Sound of a Heartache. A series of regional hits on the Stop label, including "You Gave Me a Mountain" (penned by Marty Robbins), "Undo the Right", "What A Way To Live", and "I'll Be There" soon followed. Rock critic Robert Christgau said that Bush's version of "You Gave Me A Mountain" "brings a catch to the throat and a tear to the eye." These songs did well in Bush's native Texas and reached the national top 20. In 1972, he was signed to RCA Records, whose Nashville division was headed by legendary guitarist Chet Atkins. Bush teamed with Darrell McCall in 1986, recording a successful honky-tonk album Hot Texas Country, and began assembling a large country band (as did Willie Nelson), performing around South Texas. In 1994, the band released Time Changes Everything, the same year that RCA released a greatest-hits album. A major tour soon followed. In recent years, Bush has continued to tour regularly, often performing with Nelson. Several albums on local Texas labels soon followed. His renewed visibility made him a mentor figure to younger Texas musicians who revered the honky-tonk/hardcore country sound that Bush has done so much to keep in the public eye. Austin musicians such as Dale Watson and Cornell Hurd sought him out to play on their albums. In 2003, he was inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame with his lifelong friend Willie Nelson on hand to induct him. In 2007, he released his autobiography, with the aid of Rick Mitchell: Whiskey River (Take My Mind): The True Story of Texas Honky-Tonk, published by University of Texas Press. A new album, Kashmere Garden Mud: A Tribute to Houston’s Country Soul, was released on the Icehouse label at the same time. Japanese jazz trumpeter Toshinori Kondo, known for a series of improvised performances at scenic spots around the world, died Saturday in Kawasaki, near Tokyo, his family said. He was 71.
While the cause of his death was not disclosed, his sons said in a message posted on Kondo’s official website that he “passed away peacefully.” A native of Ehime Prefecture and a graduate of Kyoto University, Kondo began his musical career in the 1970s. His first commercial success came when he formed the band Toshinori Kondo IMA in 1984. He later disbanded it and moved to Amsterdam in 1993, starting his signature project “Blow the Earth” in which he performed a series of solo improvisations in renowned landscapes including the Negev Desert in Israel and the Andes in Peru. He was also a member of the anti-nuclear movement known as “Pikadon Project” launched in 2004 along with other artists including illustrator Seitaro Kuroda and architect Tadao Ando. Kondo played with a number of the world’s renowned jazz players such as bassist Bill Laswell, saxophonist John Zorn and guitarist Derek Bailey. Steven Thronson aka Saint Vicious (October 21, 1975 – October 13, 2020). Steven was better known by his stage name Saint Dog an American rapper from Southern California. Confirmed by his management that Saint Dog died at the age of 44. No cause of death was given. Law enforcement sources say Saint was found dead early Wednesday morning at a friend's house in Victorville, CA. We're told Saint Dog's buddy found him struggling to breathe in one of the home's bedrooms, and called 911. Sources say once authorities arrived Saint Dog was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no obvious signs of foul play -- a cause of death will be determined pending an autopsy and toxicology report.
Steven was an original founding member of the Southern California hip-hop group Kottonmouth Kings, which was formed in Orange County in 1996 along with Johnny Richter, D-Loc, Daddy X, Lou Dog, and DJ Bobby. Like their band name indicates, the guys loved to rap about weed in all capacities. He contributed to their first three releases Stoners Reeking Havoc, Royal Highness, and Hidden Stash, as well as the latest Kottonmouth album Kingdom Come. After that, he went solo ... but would eventually return to collab with KMK. He officially rejoined the lineup in 2018 to release Kingdom Come. He's most known for their early hits like "Suburban Life," "Bump," "Dog's Life," "Play On," among others. On August 2, 2019, Saint Dog released his third and final solo album, Bozo, via Suburban Noize Records & Force 5 Records. Suburban Noize Records exec Kevin Zinger tells us ... "Anyone that knew Steve saw what a big heart he had. Some of my fondest memories was watching Steve stop the music in the middle of a Kottonmouth Kings show to bring a handicapped fan in a wheelchair on stage so that he could have a better view of the show and even join in singing a few songs. That was just the kind of person Steve was and he touched so many people in a positive way." He adds, "His legacy will live on in his music and our hearts go out to his Son Max and his entire family, friends, and fans worldwide." Two-Time Blues Music Award Nominee Soul-Blues Singer/Guitarist Dave Keller Proclaims You Get What You Give on New CD of Duets Fundraiser for Racial Justice and Equity, Out November 20 on Tastee Tone Records Trudy Lynn, Joe Louis Walker, Annika Chambers, Johnny Rawls, Annie Mack, Dawn Tyler Watson, Brother Bob White, Carly Harvey, Toussaint St. Negritude, Katie Henry, Chad Hollister and Many More Donate Their Talent on New Disc Two-time Blues Music Award nominee Dave Keller is an acclaimed triple-threat: an outstanding singer, an intense guitarist and a talented songwriter. Fueled by his love of deep Southern soul blues and gospel, his performances ring out with passion, integrity, and an ability to break down the barriers between performer and audience. On his new Tastee Tone Records CD, You Get What You Give, set for release on November 20th, Keller unites with a host of likeminded singers and musicians from the blues, soul and gospel music worlds to create a very special album of songs dedicated to raising funds toward enhancing racial justice and equity. Joining him are Trudy Lynn, Joe Louis Walker, Annika Chambers, Johnny Rawls, Annie Mack, Dawn Tyler Watson, Brother Bob White, Carly Harvey, Toussaint St. Negritude, Katie Henry, Chad Hollister and many more artists who donated their time and talent for the cause. “We’ve already raised over $2,000.00 from pre-orders, all of which will go directly to groups working for racial justice and equity,” says Keller, who also produced the album. “So far, the list of groups includes: NAACP Legal Defense Fund, Know Your Rights Camp, N'COBRA, and Jus' Blues Foundation. “Back in June, after the murder of George Floyd, I watched this country seething with anger and pain,” relates Dave Keller about the new album’s genesis. “As someone who has built his career performing Black music, and who has received priceless gifts from Black mentors, I asked myself: ‘What can I do to help?’ Due to Covid-19, all my summer gigs had been cancelled, and I had some extra time on my hands. So I thought, ‘What if I record my new originals with some of my friends, and donate the money from album sales to groups working for racial justice and equity?’ “I put the idea out there on social media, and the response was incredible. Within 24 hours I had received hundreds of dollars-worth of pre-orders. Dozens of musicians wanted to participate. Clearly other folks felt the way I did, and wanted to give back in some way. “The musicians on this album represent a great diversity of styles, backgrounds, ages, genders, and ethnicities. Some are known around the world. Some are known only locally. But most importantly, their music and their ‘soul’ move me. I am proud to call each of these wonderful human beings a friend.” TRACK LISTING & CREDITS (IN ORDER OF APPEARANCE ON ALBUM) One More Tear Dave Keller: vocals, electric guitar Annika Chambers: vocals Ira Friedman: organ Alex Budney: bass Jay Gleason: drums Mark Earley: tenor and baritone saxes Mario Perrett: tenor sax Tom Palance: trumpet That Thing We Do Dave Keller: vocals, electric guitar Carly Harvey: vocals Ira Friedman: organ Alex Budney: bass Jay Gleason: drums Mark Earley: tenor sax Tom Palance: trumpet Garth Retallack: trombone You Get What You Give Dave Keller: vocals, electric guitar, acoustic guitar Annie Mack: vocals Ira Friedman: organ Alex Budney: bass Jay Gleason: drums Mark Earley: tenor and baritone saxes Mario Perrett: tenor sax Tom Palance: trumpet Katie Sterling: backing vocals and handclaps Havvah Keller: backing vocals and handclaps Idalee Keller: backing vocals and handclaps April Caspari: backing vocals and handclaps Chad Hollister: backing vocals and handclaps Johnny Rawls: backing vocals The Evil That Men Do Dave Keller: vocals (first and last verses) Trudy Lynn: vocals (second verse) Annika Chambers: vocals (third verse) Annie Mack: vocals (fourth verse) Johnny Rawls: vocals (fifth verse) Ira Friedman: piano Tom Palance: trumpet Scratchin' At Your Door Dave Keller: vocals, electric guitar (first solo) Joe Louis Walker: vocals Chris Robertson: electric slide guitar (outro solo) Ira Friedman: organ Alex Budney: bass Jay Gleason: drums April Caspari: backing vocals Your Kind Of Fool Dave Keller: vocals, electric guitar Trudy Lynn: vocals Ira Friedman: piano, organ Alex Budney: bass Jay Gleason: drums God Is Love / Love Is Everything Dave Keller: vocals, electric guitar Dawn Tyler Watson: vocals Vince Allen: electric guitar (solo) Ira Friedman: organ Alex Budney: bass Jay Gleason: drums Mark Earley: tenor and baritone saxes (solo) Mario Perrett: tenor sax Tom Palance: trumpet The Spark Dave Keller: vocals Ira Friedman: piano Make It To Tomorrow Dave Keller: vocals, acoustic guitar Chad Hollister: vocals, cajon Land Of The Lonely Dave Keller: vocals, electric guitar Johnny Rawls: vocals Ira Friedman: organ Alex Budney: bass Jay Gleason: drums Precious Lord, Take My Hand Brother Bob White: vocals, piano Dave Keller: electric guitar Larry Gann: drums The Kiss I Want Dave Keller: vocals, electric guitar Katie Henry: vocals Ira Friedman: organ Alex Budney: bass Jay Gleason: drums Mark Earley: tenor and baritone saxes Mario Perrett: tenor sax Tom Palance: trumpet I'm Gonna Let It Shine Toussaint St. Negritude: vocals Dave Keller: National steel guitar, harmonica About Dave Keller: Ever since renowned guitarist Ronnie Earl chose Dave Keller to sing on his album Living In The Light, Keller's star has been on the rise. In just a few short years, Keller has received two Blues Music Award nominations, won the International Blues Challenge Best Self-Released CD Award, and been chosen for Downbeat's Best Recordings of the Year. A bit of a late bloomer, Keller grew up in Massachusetts, loving music, but not picking up guitar until age 16, and not singing in his first band until age 20. But blessed with mentors including deep soul singer Mighty Sam McClain, mystical soul guitarist Robert Ward, acoustic blues master Paul Rishell and soul/blues man Johnny Rawls, Keller made up for lost time. Relocating to icy Vermont in 1993, Keller found fertile ground to grow his audience, and has become a household name there. Famous for his live-wire shows, Keller can often be found fifty feet out in the crowd, teasing fiery licks from his trusty Stratocaster and singing off-mike as the audience sings along. Keller has performed at some of the biggest festivals in the East, including the North Atlantic Blues Festival, the PA Blues Fest, and the Discover Jazz Festival. He has also performed at the Blues Music Awards ceremony twice, accompanying Ronnie Earl, and Johnny Rawls.
Beide ontmoetten elkaar in 2012. Dat resulteerde in 2013 in hun debuutalbum ‘Wee Small Hours At Swansneck’. Mark Ritsema, Dirk Polak, Aldert Mantje of Joeri Rook. All Them Witches have released the video for “Rats In Ruin”. The 9 ½ minute film was co-directed & stars the Emmy Award Winning & Golden Globe nominated actress Drea De Matteo (The Sopranos, Sons Of Anarchy) and the band’s drummer & artistic director Robby Staebler. “Rats In Ruin” is the epic closing track to the band’s new album. Released last month, Nothing As The Ideal debuted at #1 on the Top New Artist Chart, #1 on the Alternative New Artist Albums and #21 on the Billboard Top Albums Chart. “Nothing As The Ideal” werd opgenomen in Studio 2 van de befaamde Abbey Road Studios met hulp van mixing engineer Mike Allred. All Them Witches’ zesde studio-album, dit keer voor het eerst als trio, bevat weer hun unieke mix van ‘alternative rock, psychedelic desert blues, classic heavy rock and dark country’. De Abbey Road vibe (denk aan Pink Floyd en The Beatles) gemixed met de Nashville band’s signature dirty rock sound resulteerde in ‘the most experimental though cohesive album; it’s a provoking headbanger, marked by their broadest atmospheres and vibes, intimate and pummeling’. All Them Witches have built a career out of playing music that cannot be pigeonhold into one specific genre, but is somewhat a genius mix of alternative rock, psychedelic desert blues, classic heavy rock and dark country. “Nothing As The Ideal” was recorded in Studio 2 at the world famous Abbey Road Studios (a.o. Pink Floyd, The Beatles), with the help of longtime mixing engineer Mikey Allred. The history and vibe of that setting laid the groundwork for what was to come. The band’s signature psychedelic blues riffs, relentless drums, melodic bass lines and non-linear lyrics are all present. The resulting album is a thought provoking head banger that is the band’s most experimental though cohesive album to date. It’s also their heaviest album marked by their broadest atmospheres and vibes, intimate and pummeling. It’s also their first full length album as a paired down trio, their smallest iteration as a band. Limited edition blue vinyl, kraftpack, 300 copies Pre-order CALL US WHEN IT'S OVER —the 6th studio album by TINY LEGS TIM— is a spontaneous burst of energy and joy after three months of musical wasteland during the lockdown. We’ll forever remember the summer of 2020. In March the world was hit by the Covid-19 pandemic. All over the world cities and countries went in lockdown, bars and venues were closed and live music stopped altogether. After three months of total isolation and not being able to jam or play at Missy Sippy Blues & Roots Club in Ghent —or any other place for that matter— Tiny Legs Tim and his friends decided to book a weekend at The Yellow Tape studio. They wanted to capture the emotional high of finally playing together again. A simple live setup, a 60’s Faylon mixing desk and an old 24-track tape machine were used to record this outburst of musical joy. During that weekend Tim and his musicians reached that point of ‘locking together’ they experienced so often playing late nights at a packed and steamy Missy Sippy. Imagine when four musicians act as one in an energetic dance with the audience, led by the sultry beats of the drums (Bernd Coene), the dirty grooves of the bass (Mattias Geernaert) and the inciting dialogue of the guitars (Toon Vlerick & Tiny Legs Tim).
At the moment these kind of scenes and carefree celebrations of life and music seem like a thing of a long gone past, but as Tiny Legs Tim puts it: “We’re always ready to roll, call us when it’s over.” In the meantime, the listener gets a first-hand experience of the positive energy and joy of making music on the spot with a selection of spontaneously arranged songs: some new, some old and one cover by the late R.L. Burnside. Dit jaar is het precies 40 jaar geleden dat het nummer ‘There Will Be No Next Time’ van The Kids verscheen op de legendarische belpopverzamelaar ‘Get Sprouts’.
‘There Will Be No Next Time’ was destijds ook te vinden op het album ‘Blackout’ dat in 1981 verscheen. Twee jaar later volgde de Britse nummer 1 hit ‘Do You Love Me’. The Tremeloes begonnen in 1967 aan een half decennium van hits, waaronder ‘Here Comes My Baby’, ‘Silence Is Golden’, ‘My Little Lady’, ‘Even The Bad Times Are Good’, ‘Helule Helule’, ‘Hello World’ en ‘Once On A Sunday Morning’. 'I Like it That way', geschreven door Alan Blakley en Len Hawkes, bereikte de bovenste tien van de Veronica Top 40. Dave Munden ruste in vrede!
Met dank aan Leo Weijers. John McLean and Charles Barkatz announce a December 4th release date for Shadow Man, their new CD which teams them up with producer Mark “Kaz” Kazanoff and a host of Austin all-star musicians for a sound that treads nicely in blues, jazz and roots music territories with an international flair. “We had a great Austin band on the project: Derek Obrien on guitar, Chris Maresh on bass, Nick Connolly on keys, and John Chipman on drums,” says producer/tenor sax/harmonica player Kazanoff. “Plus, course, The Texas Horns and a couple other special guests.” Also appearing on Shadow Man are Alex Coke on sax and flutes and Elaine Barber, principal harpist with the Austin Symphony. The album was recorded at Wire Recording in Austin with Stuart Sullivan engineering, and is being released on Leaky Shoes Records. “My good friend Alex Coke introduced me to his brother, John McLean, in early 2019,” recounts “Kaz” about the album’s genesis. “John mentioned that he wanted to make a blues record in Austin with his Parisian guitar playing pal Charles Barkatz. I was a bit skeptical at first, not ever having heard of John or Charles in the ‘blues’ world. But as John sent me their demo recordings over the next few months, I began to hear their beautiful and original take on the blues. Not your typical contemporary blues, this material focused on wonderful new poetical lyrics, and songs that created moods ranging from raw deep blues to jazzy almost impressionistic grooves. Our terrific keyboardist, Nick Connolly, lightheartedly described the music as ‘beatnik blues,’ but there is a hard edge of sorrow and existential desperation to the songs. This is real personal blues coming from their lives and experiences, and it demanded a high level of collaboration among John, Charles, me, all the musicians, and Stuart Sullivan, our recording engineer. We all played together in a big room at Wire Recording. The musical result depended on everyone’s creative and often spontaneous effort, lead by our incredible rhythm section of Derek Obrien on guitar, Chris Maresh on bass and John Chipman on drums. Because of the uniqueness and freshness of the song material, as producer I was very comfortable with adding instruments not usually present in contemporary blues contexts. So, we welcomed Alex Coke on alto flute and soprano saxophone, and Elaine Barber on harp, on several tunes. The Texas Horns added their punchy tight arrangements. I hope you will hear and enjoy the fun and excitement we all shared in making this music!” Author and composer John McLean has developed into an eclectic, multi-talented artist who has always followed his passions in theater, cinema and music wherever they might lead: New York, Paris, and most recently Austin, Texas. Born in Manhattan, New York, he was brought up on a ranch near Dallas, Texas, and studied writing and theater in Boston, which prepared him for his many different pathways in art. McLean has been cited by the New York Times for his virtuosity in playing flutes and bagpipes with the Menestriers of France at the Metropolitan Museum Concert Hall, and later for his sensitive off-Broadway theater production and direction of Fabrice Rozier’s play about Simone de Beauvoir’s “Transatlantic Liaison” at the Clurman Theater. As a jazzman, John has been a leader of several groups in Paris such as the Fairweather Quintet, where he performed at the Petite Journal de Montparnasse and with his duo partner Charles Barkatz at the Duc de Lombards. He recently appeared in New York at a sold-out evening at the Cornelia Street Cafe with his group, the John Mclean Quartet, with Ed Howard on bass, Paul Bolenback on guitar and Alex Coke on flute and sax. Now a dynamic 80 years of age, John starts a promising new career as singer and songwriter with the release of his latest album, Shadow Man. Charles Barkatz was born in Paris in 1959 and began playing the classical guitar at the age of 12 at a conservatory. Very quickly influenced by Muddy Waters, B.B. King, John Lee Hooker and especially Jimi Hendrix, he started learning to play the blues by himself. Soon afterwards, having the good fortune to see the legendary West Montgomery and Kenny Burrell playing in Paris, he concentrated on learning jazz technique and joined the CIM school, playing as solo guitarist in the student big band. Barkatz played regularly in duos, trios and in a quartet with the pianist Patt Burter, with whom he discovered the repertory of Brazilian composer Antonio Carlos Jobim. He met bassist Vincent Naturel and accompanied Cathy Renoir among many other woman vocalists. He started doing studio work with singer Ken Allen and continued his studies of jazz guitar with guitarists Jean-Philippe Bordier and Serge Merlaud and singing with Isabelle Carpentier. He records and plays regularly in the U.S at the Blue Rooster and at the Five O’clock Club in Sarasota with guitarist/singer Al Fuller and in Tampa with the singer Peter D’Straw. He is the author and composer of several titles of jazz, blues, and folk songs, is preparing an album of Latin music with the pianist Eric Viara and appears regularly in Paris. His CD, So Nice to Come Home to, in collaboration with John McLean was released in 2019.

Girls in Hawaii fera des concerts en 2020-2021" "Desire to play, desire to play now, the desire to be on familiar stages and to return to simple things in these complicated times... We are playing concerts in 2020-2021." (Girls in Hawaii) Joey Stuckey, the official music ambassador for Macon, Georgia, the “southern rock capital of the world”, releases a new single “You Know My Name”. It is a smoky blues rock track sizzling with lusty performances making every note pulse with attitude and is a swampy musical romp about a love that is partnered with lust for a woman that isn’t always interested in staying in the relationship. The song is part praise of the perfect woman, part plea for her to stay and part rebuke of some of the nonsense she pulls. In the lyrics you can hear the story unfold “Love can be cruel, oh but it can be so kind. I’m not playin’ games baby, no that’s only in your jealous mind”. The story is told with powerhouse vocals, dripping with a southern grit, while the guitar takes on the blues machinations of someone like a young Eric Clapton. With pounding drums and bass, a cookin’ horn section reminiscent of a Stax or Sun Studio track and the sweet singing of the B3 organ, this is a must listen for blues enthusiasts! Recorded by producer and engineer Joey Stuckey at his Macon, Georgia, Shadow Sound Studio recording facility, home of the southern sound of the 70’s, and featuring special guest Randall Bramblett of Traffic and Steve Winwood on B3 and Charlie Hoskyns of the UK band The Popes on bass. Stuckey has a new classic track as he plays and sings his heart out with his famed guest musicians and the rest of his Shadow Sound Studio session musician team! “You Know My Name” is the seventh single the blind guitar hero has released in 2020. After performing for a packed house in January at the world famous Whisky A Go Go, plans were afoot for an expansive summer tour but due to the COVID pandemic, Stuckey had to find a new way to share his story and music. In March, he began releasing one song a month as a way of staying in touch with his worldwide fan base. “I think that the songs I have released in 2020 are some of my best work yet and I’m excited for fans to hear all the new music I’ve put out this year. ‘You Know My Name’ is my favorite recording in this year’s collection of singles”, says Stuckey. Joe Bonamassa Announces New Studio Album “Royal Tea” Inspired by Jeff Beck, Led Zeppelin, John Mayall, Eric Clapton, and Cream Joe Bonamassa's new solo studio album Royal Tea is inspired by his British heroes Jeff Beck, John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Cream and was recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios and will be released on October 23rd via Provogue. Bonamassa is known for taking risks and venturing into uncharted territory throughout his wide-ranging career but now he has found a new way to surprise his fans and music lovers. Royal Tea brings Bonamassa full-circle. “This whole adventure,” admits Joe, “was a bucket-list thing for me.” This album reconnects the 43-year-old with the guitar-slinging kid from upstate New York, who stumbled across the best of British blues music in his dad’s vinyl collection – whose influences have shaped him to be the player he is today. “I would have been about twelve years old, and it was the sound I heard in my head. Like, ‘OK, I’m in. That’s what I want to be’.” These ten original tracks were co-written by Joe and a cast of homegrown notables including former Whitesnake guitarist Bernie Marsden, ex-Cream lyricist Pete Brown and national-treasure piano man Jools Holland. “Writing this record in London has done its job,” reflects Bonamassa. “It really does sound inherently British. Bernie and I, we finish each other’s sentences. We’re cut from the same cloth.” Bonamassa’s long-standing producer Kevin Shirley and regular touring band flew in for the recording sessions, which included Anton Fig (drums), Michael Rhodes (bass) and Reese Wynans (keys). Alongside the announcement of the Royal Tea album, Bonamassa revealed today that he will perform a special LivestreamConcert from the legendary Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee on September 20th. This concert will feature the songs from his new album before the official release. Joe has never performed a full, unreleased album for audiences like this before, giving fans from around the world the opportunity to come together for an unforgettable night of blues-rock music. Along with Royal Tea he’ll perform classic remixes from his 20th anniversary album A New Day Now. The evening will continue with a one hour “After Party” featuring several live performances from an array of some of the hottest rising stars in blues-rock music.

No film crew, no editor, no budget. The plan was to make a film, stream of consciousness style, doing everything myself, like I’m recording music. Improvise, throw stuff in and make sense of it later and I did…all except the last bit. I guess it’s a performance film of sorts, all shot within a hundred yard radius of home and, at the risk of this sounding like a commercial, it would’ve been impossible without my iPhone X, Adobe Premier Pro and Wondershare Filmora editing software and two supremely cool apps, GlitchCam and EFEKT. Not sure if it’s the message I was expecting though.” - KG MUSCLE MEMORY marks Kevin’s first time fronting a project. His lyricism is cutting, political and provides a mood similar to film dialogue over classic pop lyricism. Gun control, societal unrest, racism and questions regarding political correctness make for some of the most striking lyrical content likely heard on an alternative pop record. This is a dark record from someone not known for dark themes. Kevin’s career features numerous exceptional albums and sees him as one of the most important pioneers of the pop music video. MUSCLE MEMORY is a fitting addition to this body of work, offering a provoking, daring new insight into Godley’s creative practice. Tracks from the album will be released in order every two weeks until the album's release on the 17th of December 2020.
