Yes, less than 4 weeks to go until we (finally) kick off Sjock 45! It was only last week that we had to swallow yet another bitter pill; Reigning Sound, a band that breathes the Sjock spirit, is no more… The band decided to stop and cancel their tour, they played their final show last Friday in their hometown Memphis… We could spend time on finding a proper replacement, but hey, can you properly replace Reigning Sound on such short notice? Don’t think so! So this time we go for the surprise, a band that you may not have heard of. A band, we feel is worth to discover. We had the band on our list since a couple of months and thought this would be the opportunity to get them on our stage. Ladies and gentlemen, please allow us to introduce Red Ray and the Reprobates from Bristol, UK! We’re confident you will appreciate them, so come see them at our Bang Bang Stage, Sunday, July 10th! Also Chubby and the Gang is cancelling all of their summer shows, this news reached us just now, so we’re looking for a proper replacement as we speak! Our buddy Cedric Maes (of The Sore Losers/Sha-la-Lees/El Guapo Stuntteam fame) is hosting the show and will present a Sjock Festival Special! So, that’s more than enough news for now, and we truly hope we won’t have to bother you with more cancellations… These Covid and war things are really turning our world upside down.
