The European Talent Exchange Programme, initiatief van het Eurosonic Festival ondersteunde 15 Belgische bands in Europa in 2019. Terugblik!

Eurosonic's  ’talentuitwisselingsprogramma' ETEP biedt in 2020 nog meer internationale kansen voor artiesten

​​De laatste ETEP festivals van dit jaar zoals Les Trans(musicales de Rennes) (Fr) starten deze week, dus hoog tijd om terug te blikken op een zeer geslaagd ETEP jaar en ook even vooruit te kijken.

Het European Talent Exchange Programme of ETEP probeert bij te dragen aan de ontwikkeling van de internationale carrières van Europese artiesten. Het ondersteunt dus de Europese jonge bands en artiesten die op Eurosonic staan op vlak van boekingen op festivals buiten hun thuisland, en genereert daarnaast media-aandacht voor hen ism o.a. de European Broadcasting Union (EBU) en 18 exportkantoren waaronder Poppunt en WBM (Wallonie)

2019 bracht ETEP shows door acts uit 28 verschillende landen. Acts uit Groot-Brittannië (31 acts, 96 shows), Nederland (22 acts, 49 shows), Ierland (11 acts, 39 shows), België (14 acts, 37 shows) en Frankrijk (14 acts, 32 shows) wisten de meeste boekingen binnen te halen. Whispering Sons eindigt dit jaar bij de top van de participerende bands met deelname aan 6 ETEP festivals.

Bij de Belgische artiesten die afgelopen jaren door ETEP onderteund werden vind je oa Whispering Sons, blackwave., Borokov Borokov, Blu Samu, Brides Of Lucifer, Wwwater, Tamino, Témé Tan, De Beren Gieren, Dvtch Norris, Mdc Iii, Portland, Shht, Sons, Stikstof, Brutus, Portland, Warhola, Thecolorgrey, Sylvie Kreusch, Charlotte Adigery, Goose, Netsky, Woodie Smalls etc.
 
Festivals spelen een grote rol in het programma door artiesten te presenteren aan een internationaal publiek. ETEP zal volgend jaar in nog meer landen kansen bieden voor Europese artiesten. Twee nieuwe exportkantoren: Music Export Denmark en Music Latvia stappen in het programma. Daarnaast is het programma in gesprek met elf festivals van buiten Europa.  Bovendien nemen ook Belgische festivals zoals Dour, Les Nuits Bota, Pukkelpop, Werchter etc actief deel aan het programma :

I think over the years the European Talent Exchange Program (ETEP) has proven its value to the European music scene (festivals, club circuit). ETEP has been behind over 4000 shows by more than 1600 artists since 2003 which makes them a well respected player in the business. Worldwide even. Franz Ferdinand, The XX, Calvin Harris or more recently Jake Bugg, Christine And The Queens and Dua Lipa are just a few examples of acts supported by the program. The same applies to Belgian acts such as Charlotte Adigéry or blackwave.. At Pukkelpop we honestly believe in a well balanced collaboration with ETEP. After all, supporting new talent has been part of our DNA since the very beginning in 1985.

​About / Quid ? 
ETEP is een initiatief van ESNS opgestart in 2003, en ondersteunt boekingen van Europese artiesten op festivals buiten hun thuisland. Het programma was al goed voor 4392 shows door 1609 acts in 38 landen (met steun van de steun van Creative Europe, het steunprogramma voor cultuur van de Europese Unie). In de afgelopen 17 jaar, hebben acts zoals Agnes Obel, Ásgeir, Ben Howard, Benjamin Clementine, Calvin Harris, Franz Ferdinand, James Blake, MØ, Noisia, Selah Sue, The Editors, The Kooks, The XX, Within Temptation en Years & Years gebruik gemaakt van ETEP. Recenter hebben acts zoals Fontaines D.C., girl in red, Mavi Phoenix, Pip Blom, Tamino, Idles, Shame, Alma, Aurora en Dua Lipa hun eerste internationale stappen gezet met de steun van ETEP.  

"Botanique is ETEP member since more than two decades. We are proud of being part of this programme. Surely the best showcase festival in Europe. We every year go to Groningen and try to attend as many shows as we can.. no luck for the bars, Botanique people walk;. run from venue to venue and come back to Brussels with more than 150 bands in mind..
