​Young talent (15 years) from Oxford will conquer the World eventually. Give him a few years. His EP Spit It Out (on cassette) will become a sought after collector’s item within a few years. A talented musician to follow up!

​Again 4 delightful psychedelica singles from Fruits De Mer Records.  A few personal favourites: The Chemistry Set with Firefly (an instant classic one) and Touch with the experimental psych ‘Down At Circe’s Place’.  But if you like a gently sweet voice: listen to Elfin Bow.  Or you like electronics: try the magnificent Nick Nicely.

​Reta wants to spread a message of joy and hope, and I gladly want to help her with that. And I surely will play this album during Christmas!

​It’s very clear that Kayla is a talented musician, who knows how to bring melodic songs. Recommended!

The French duo ‘The Inspector Cluzo’ consists of Laurent Lacrouts and Mathieu Jourdain, who revel in solid, no-nonsense rock. Rock with great song titles that don’t shun ambiguity: ‘A Man Outstanding In His Field’ can just as well be interpreted as ‘A Man Out, Standing In His Field’. Lacrouts and Jourdain also know how to tickle our funny bone, judging by the name of their label ‘Fuckthebassplayer Records’. Yes, indeed, they don’t have a bass player. They do have great taste, for the album has been recorded live on an 8-track analog tape machine, produced, mixed and engineered in Nashville, Tennessee. Music City, no less. ‘There is no digital sound on this album’ as stated in the liner notes. Nice. The chaps are aware of nature, socio-cultural and –economic issues, which is reflected in songs like ‘Cultural Misunderstanding’, ‘Ideologies’ and ‘The Globalisation Blues’. The songs on ‘We The People Of The Soil’ boast charged guitar work, aggressive refrains with powerful vocals, the occasional parlando with a French hint, and instrumental intermezzos. ‘The Sand Preacher’ packs a punch with an excellent country groove during the refrain, just as ‘Little Girl’ is also indebted to the works of Lee Hazlewood or Johnny Cash. The title track is playfully funky, like Red Hot Chili Peppers during the ‘Stadium Arcadium’ era. This was my introduction to The Inspector Cluzo, so I don’t know how this album compares to their older work. No prior knowledge, hence no expectations. ‘We The People Of The Soil’ is quite the gem. The phrase ‘No thanks, sir, I don’t like that grin on your face’ ends the track ‘No Deal At The Crossroads’, but I did have a grin on my face by then.

What a beautiful energetic and omnifarious album.  Ten Years Today  must be one of the best bands in The Netherlands.  Alternative powerpop that rocks like hell, and let you breath between the raptures. Perfect debut!

After a career of more than 20 years, Kate Campbell still preaches peace in a firm and modest way. Always nice listening to her stories. That’s Kate anyway!

​Strong political and social songs from Seattle.  That’s a lack in Europe! Thank You Michael Belkin.  Kick the crowd a conscience.  

​This eighteenth album contains again a mixture of house and chill out tracks.

​Punk will never die.  Meet agression as exhaust in Oakland.  Quinn Walker proves to be a die-hard, a survivor with a lot of skills.

The soundtrack of Kinky cannot convince to go to bed.  Unless it is to sleep, of course.

​This debut album contains post-soul, post-jazz tracks, mostly instrumental. 

​This sequel is worth his money. Deep funk, raw soul, organ jazz and boogaloo together. 

After the men were allowed to give their vision on all facets of love, on previous releases in this fantastic Koko-Mojo marketed series, it is now up to the ladies to answer them. They do that and how? With steamy and authentic rhythm & blues. Once again highly recommended

Popa has been guided here by his musical gut feeling. On this 'Best of CD' the fans find some of his best songs plus eleven previously unreleased tracks (9 studio and 2 live songs) as a bonus on CD2. The release 'Prime Cuts - The Very Best Of The Beast From The East' is a pleasant introduction to the world of Popa Chubby. And for his old fans there is a lot to discover on the bonus CD. So no idea for under the Christmas tree? We are already looking forward to another new studio album! Love you, Pops…
